     Actually, I looked it up a long time ago. BOTH variants are 
correct. Which you use just comes down to stylistic and personal 
preferences.

     There is a reason for using three periods without spacing on web 
pages, though. They tend not to be broken up by word-wrapping in 
different resolutions or window sizes that way, while the spaced ones do.
