It might be even better to to point out what exactly you want the site to
do... also what you don't want it to do... I know your thinking... What not
to do? but for those of us that have the training in web design (actually
any type of program design) it does make a lot of sense.
How about some technical questions to help you guys out. Here is what you
should be asking us.

(Feel free to add questions to this list.)

1. What is the site going to do?
(sub-questions)
Is there going to be archiving of stories?
Does there need to be user accounts?
Do you want it where if you email a response it shows up as a post on the
site?

2. What is the site not going to do?
(sub-questions)
Do you not want unlimited users?
If so what is the max number of users do you want?
Do you not want user tracking?

3. If there are going to be user accounts how do you want to moderate them?
(sub-questions)
Will there be user levels (different levels of permission)?
How do you want to handle bans?

(Notice how many questions I asked before I even asked about how they want
it to look)
4. How do you want the site to look?
(sub-questions)
Is there a specific theme you want to use?
Do you want it to be easy to change the layout and theme based on a holiday
or time of year?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
While there are various ways of doing a site some of the easier options
include using PHP.
There are prebuilt PHP-forums that are easily custimized with little trouble
and have several built-in themes already.
You could also go with ASP... why I'm not sure... ASP is more business
oriented and PHP would most likely be a better choice.
That said... you would either need to find someone who knows PHP or would be
willing to learn it.
I know ASP myself. Wouldn't mind learning PHP either... but then I'm itching
to start programming again.

Hope this helps.
Jon

P.S. If you want a HTML site you will find it being more trouble than its
worth.
HTML=Static
PHP, ASP, Flash... = Dynamic!

It may be worthwhile to clarify:
You mean just a designer, and not someone to host the site?

Here is the second important thing in out attempt to increase the
visibility of the FFML: A decent easier to find website. Bascially we're
looking for a volunteer to do this task. From what the others say (since
I know nothing about even basic programming), you'll need to know design
and coding. We're not looking for anything too fancy, so don't be
frightened. Let the Admins know if you feel you're up to the task. If
you have a webpage you've designed, all the better.
