Very well done, indeed.

And here is my take on how it all ends:

--------

Thanks, I'm honored!

And, now that you've taken us into crossover territory, I shudder to think of what might happen next...

******

Most of us had the foresight to run away from the horror threatening
to overwhelm us, but Cesar...brave, stupid Cesar ran straight toward
it, brandishing his quarterstaff, screaming. The last we saw of him
was the katamari crushing him under -- no, wait, he popped up again
as the thing kept rolling, his shouts and arm-waving having no effect.

Purrl was next to go, her befuddled mind not comprehending the danger
of the huge colorful thing bearing down upon her.

"BULLETS WON'T STOP IT!" came a shout from Cube, who was waddling as
as fast as he could away from it. Suddenly, he screamed, as another
slow-moving katamari brushed by him, sucking the penguin into its
mass. This one was being pushed by a rotund yellow little guy.

We saw oddly colored little guys pop up all over the place, pushing conglomerations of different sizes. The smaller ones we could smack
with shovels and other blunt objects, and they would break up into
their components, but the larger ones simply grabbed on to our
weapons and wouldn't let go. Soon, the smaller ones were subsumed
into the first one, which now towered over the treetops.

Fortunately for us, the sheer mass of the clump meant that we could
outrun it, with a little effort. However, there was no way for us
to damage the thing, so there seemed little we could do to prevent
our assimilation --

-- until, with an incredible bang, the damned thing blew apart!

As debris, flotsam, jetsam, whole buildings, and a smattering of
confused animals scattered around us, the wide-headed guy who had
started it all looked up, and shouted "What happen?"

>From out of the clouds, a huge grey face suddenly loomed. It was
centered on an even larger cylindrical head, mounted on a body that
was incomprehensibly wearing a disco shirt with an Elizabethean
collar. And it spoke words which were at once bizarre and terrible,
and we couldn't be sure what it meant, but we knew that it meant
nothing good.

And those words were,

"SOMEONE SET US UP THE BOMB."

I hereby declare this fic to be a FANFIC PING-PONG EVENT.
In other words, anyone else care to take a stab at the next bit?

Rob

(I wonder how they're going to turn AC into an animated movie.
A game with no plot wouldn't seem to be a good choice for source
material)
