While theory and practice tend to differ widely in actuality, on the
whole I think this might be a feasible endeavour so long as it's done
with an eye on the possibilities of it getting out of hand quickly.

You know what I mean.

That being said, I'm going to mention things like spamassassin.

And while yes, on the whole, it would most likely increase not only
traffic for the list in general, but C&C, random 'u sux!'s (and the like),
IF we manage to pull in the great masses of the undead zombies we
call the youth of america (and once in a while other nations. >.>;)
Reading in general, fanfiction or otherwise seems to have lost some
of it's stigma, even if you're a total jock (no offense to any intended.)

The whole endeavor could also tank horribly. Sorry. I deal in facts.

There would most definitely be a need for a website front end. though
I do imagine splitting all those monthly digest chunks into the individual
posts could get rather tedious. On this line of thought there's the question
of how to implement the style of that front end (yes, I know I'm jumping
the gun a bit, bear with me.) FF.net is, while simple, easy to use, and the
resulting fics display layout are nice enough, the search _blows_. the 
newer
interface for TMFFA got to be so tedious that I just stopped going to 
the site
because I couldn't find much of anything I wanted to read (even though I
know it's there.)

So there would obviously be some things that needed to get done before the
admins, or Mr Nice List Server Owner, up and say 'Sure, it's open for the
rest of fandom, this may be a test run, to see how it goes. It may be a 
full time
thing from now till fandom ends in a firey explosive death.'

I myself, while not being a say, B:TVS fan, can appreciate the section 
of masses
who are. Even as I don't agree with their particular choices. Such is 
life, taking
the parts you don't like with the parts you do, and trying not to kill 
anyone in the
process.

I think there would need to be some tolerance in some areas, and some 
strict
guidelines in others. But overall there would most likely need to be some
flexibility until things got into the post-apocalyptic swing and 
stabilized out.

I seem to have completely lost my train of thought, but I think you can 
follow
it from there.
