While I've no doubt you sent this unintentionally, this sort of garbage
post is something that our readers should not have to deal with. It's
your responsibility to understand your email client software well enough
to make sure it's sending properly. Make sure yours is fixed before you
post again.
A couple of suggestions:
1) Any option for HTML or "Rich Text" should be turned OFF. (This is a
good thing to do in any case. HTML email takes up ~3 times as much space
as plain text and is a trojan horse for viruses, advertising, and other
malicious content. Unless you really need the extra formatting that HTML
provides *AND* you know for sure that the recipient(s) of your message
accept HTML, don't use it.)
2) Any option for encoding (base64, uuencode, PGP, etc.) should be
turned OFF. (This is a no-brainer. Unless you are sending out binary
attachments there is no need for base64/uuencode, and PGP and such are
only good if you know that the person(s) to whom you are sending are
equipped to decode it.)
If this kind of thing keeps happening, we will have to start banning
people for it.
