Am I the only one who is flabbergasted by the vitriol being thrown
around in this thread? I don't get it. What's the big deal? Was
physical harm just threatened above? It seems to me that Thermopyle and
some others are raising perceived issues about the fic, and the author
and the author's cronies are blasting away with much harsher criticism
than was ever directed toward the fic in the first place--at least in
response to this chapter. Perhaps there is resentment holding over from
previous feedback?
It's becasue the first time he "reviewed" it was a total piece of crap
review which pissed a _LOT_ of people off.
I _TRIED_ to answer him without letting that affect my judgement, he chose
to _not understand_ _all_ my points.
After the first time, I simply went... fine. Nightelf as _well_ tried.
I don't think it's fair that you're holding Thermopyle accountable for
information that you have access to and he doesn't. But aside from
that, it seems you're mostly insulting the critics instead of trying to
address the issues they raise. Mark did respond later to one poster's
questions by pointing out some earlier evidence given in the fic, and
that's a good thing, but it would have been better to do it before
someone else mentioned that he'd failed to do so, and it certainly
could have been done without lambasting him in a previous post.
I'm not holding him accountable for it. A _LOT_ of the clues have been
scattered here and there in the fic. The scene where the extended Yamada
clan glares at Ranma's back is a MAJOR clue, which _was_ in the fic. While,
yes, I have more information than others, the clues are there.
Personally I've been enjoying this fic but I'm almost afraid to say
whether I agree with the perceived issues or not simply because of the
way the author and the author's prereaders (except for Becerra) are
reacting to any criticism. Is it worth it either way, to be seen as
associated with either side of the issue? This has gone way too far.
We apoligize for that, but... Thermy has managed to piss me off. Normally,
I _don't_ get upset, at least this badly. I try HARD to keep my temper in
check, and to be honest, I usually do a good job... but Thermy (and it's not
all his fault, there are a few other reasons, which, I'll go into in
private, if you wish) managed to piss me off beyound my restraint.
Perhaps, I'll admit, I wouldn't have reacted like this, if I hadn't read his
previous reviews and "C&C" , but with that in mind... I saw no reason to
spare him. He doesn't understand the points _I_ tried to make, that
Nightelf tried to make, and that others have tried to make. After a
while, you get tired of trying to feed a mule a carrot, and reach for the
2x4.
That's what _I_ felt like. For which, I have to apoligize. _I_ do need to
keep my temper in better check, I'll admit. But Thermy to me is acting like
a troll. (and I'm not the only one who thinks so.)
