Subject: [FFML] [Query] "Legal" status of "fake" anime vis-a-vis FFML?

This is mainly for the admins, but I'm posting it to the list in general
because it's just one of those things. You know, public interest wossname.

A lot of very good animated programming has appeared in the last few years
that many call "fake anime"; shows that are not Japanese in origin, but have
many elements of Japanese animation (including but not limited to: anime
sight gag cliches, style conventions, general pacing/format emulation, and
so forth). Examples off the top of my head include...well, basically, the
entire Miguzi block running on Cartoon Network right now (Totally Spies,
Code Lyoko, New TMNT, Teen Titans).

I have a hunch a lot of people on the FFML want to (and probably already do)
write fanfiction based on some of these series, but use their own websites
or venues like FF.net to post them, unsure of what the FFML response to such
things would be.

So this brings me to the question: would fanfiction based exclusively on
"fake" anime such as those named above be permissible on the FFML? And would
the FFML reading and reviewing public even WANT such things on the list?

This is probably likely to set off a chain of spam, so I'll ask that people
please refrain from bombarding the FFML with discussion of this. Let's just
get a short, sweet answer from the admins, then call it quits for this
topic.

(I ask this because I know a few people, myself included, who have Teen
Titans fics in the works which are not anime crossovers, and would rather
not see them consigned to the depths of FF.Net Hell or left to stagnate on
blogs...hard to get decent C&C either way, really.)
