[FFML] Re: [Robotech] FOX Squadron - Episode 11, The First Mission Part 1

Greg, another excellent chapter! Things seem to be
getting even more tangled. I'm trying to figure out
if the GMP is playing a role in the strange things
that are happening to Fox Squadron, or if they are
simply being themselves. They seem a bit heavy handed
compared to the more subtle mechinations that appear
to be coming from Leonard and the ASC. The attack on
Ona seemed at once a random bit of cruelty and a
calculated measure. I'm waiting to see what you
spring next!

In case I've never mentioned it, I like your portrayal
of Emerson. In the McKinney books he is almost
lionized by everyone, and is something of a two
dimensional character in my way of thinking. You've
shown him in a different light, as a person with some
history, rather than the tragic, heroic figure that
played the father figure role for Dana Sterling and
Bowie Grant. He makes compromises and mistakes, even
though he is doing what he feels is the right thing,
he is using means that he may not feel comfortable
with, and that his friends definitely don't feel
comfortable with!

There is plenty of fore-shadowing about the new
"ambassador". I already have the feeling that there
is going to be a major confrontation in the next
installment, either words or weapons. 'Course you
could be getting REALLY devious and things will go too
perfectly which could lead Jeff into thinking yet
something else was afoot! Man, I'm starting to get
paranoid! Sorta like how I felt after reading
Clancy's "Without Remorse"!

Captain Parino's leadership of the squadron during
Jeff and Captain Fox's absence will be interesting. A
lot going on with her character, and I'm interested to
see where you are leading.

Lots of set up in this partial chapter, everything
seems to be leading up to some action. Looking
forward to the next installment!

Oh, and I sympathize about your issues with MS
products. I run a Mac at home and a PC at work. The
IT's office is right next to mine, and I swear he
spends more time fixing my machine then he does
maintaining our server! But I have come to appreciate
the compatiblity.
