Sorry, but no - it has been established that the Chibi-Usa event has yet to
happen, if it's going to happen at all. Thus the only Time Key in this era
is the
Time Key Staff itself, which is being held by Sailor Pluto.

The author has already spoken up correcting the timeline, so I'll just comment on another issue:

Since Sailor Pluto no longer has the ability to manipulate events to her liking, will Crystal Tokyo, and Chibi-Usa's birth, still come to pass?  Even if Ranma, with promptings from the Gate, does just enough to ensure that, we have the makings of one nasty paradox here.  Chibi-Usa has gone back in time . . . but the person who sent her back in time /could not/ have done so, having lost that ability.  Looking forward to seeing how this one is resolved--and the rest of the story, too, of course.

Who should be stranded in Juban at the moment since she cannot use the
instant teleport ability normally granted by being the Guardian of the Gate.

If I were in Ranma's place, I would do this by somehow getting in touch
with Usagi (the non-chibi one), and explaining everything that's
happened, and asking her to get the Key from her daughter.

Somehow, though, I don't think (s)he's thinking of anything that simple.

And even if he were, how would he know? Just because the Gate knows where
the Key is doesn't mean that it can use its own powers to spy on the Sailor
Scouts.
That was a stated safety feature in an earlier chapter - the Gate requires
an
opperator in order to really do much of anything besides what little help it
is
giving Ranma at the moment.

Yeah.  Five days to find and acquire the time key before losing control of his ki, and Ranma has little idea where to start looking.  This could be bad.  Though, apparently, the Gate is capable of providing some assistance.

In other words, this is prime forshadowing of the upcoming
misunderstandings!

Oh, indeed.  Looking forward to seeing them.

Perl poetry is one of those truly arcane things not many people comprehend . . . including myself, and I do a fair bit of programming in Perl.  I had thought it was supposed to actually parse, though, which the above sample does not, at least in Perl v5.6.1.
