Exactly as the title says: How strong is the interest for "western shoujo/yaoi"?  I mean, do people buy fan-made comics/stories, illustrated stories here in North America outside of the Conventions?  Has there been cases where people/groups putting their own work out on their webpages or on ebay and actually succeed in making a reasonable profit?  If so, what methods/techniques do they use?  Thanks a lot for reading!
