Hmm...you capitalized Great Grandmother, but not son-in-law. I suggest a
consistant capitalization scheme.
That is a consistent capitalisation scheme, if a complicated one.
Put "the" in front of "Great-Grandmother" and it becomes "great-grandmother.
Remove the "the" from "son-in-law" and it becomes "Son-In-Law".
Good point, both in that it corrects an error of mine, and points out
another issue.
One can refer to other people's kindred with the article 'the'. For
example, I could say 'The father of the Yjripp family went postal today'.
However, one does not usually do this of one's own family. Thus, one
might state 'My sister cast Armageddon today, thus ending all life.' At
the very least, one can drop the 'my' as implicit, and can say 'Sister
cast Armageddon today, thus ending all life'. However, one would not
state 'The sister cast Armageddon today...', unless it were someone else's
sister.
Since Cologne is taking Ranma to be her son-in-law, she would not use the
word 'the' in conjunction to son-in-law. She might say 'Son-in-law is
stronger than I expected' or 'The boy, Son-in-Law, is stronger than I
expected'.
You're right. It is a point that's easy to miss. Glad you caught it.

The sardines weren't worth the trouble. A few more shots, then
Ryoga-san would overheat and explode. Ducking around a corner,
I managed to lose him as I entered the ramshackle residence of
my Anime supplier.
One look at his face and I knew that I had been betrayed. "Tell me,"
I insisted. He refused, so I slammed him against the wall.
"Last chance. Where can Ranma-Ranma find good fanfics?"
"Try Jason Liao," he whispered, before he slumped to the floor.
I heard the sounds of a door splintering as I left through the
window, one step ahead of Tendo Heavy Industries...
