As always, all C&C is welcome. The plot is pretty much final, so you
shouldn't expect it to change too much based on C&C. Discussion on it
is still quite welcome, however.

For those who are interested, the first couple revised chapters of 'The
Clan' are available at my website, along with a bunch of new fanart.
Kudos to Dave Menard for his wonderful artwork!

Y'know, Jones, it's weird, but the first thing that popped to
mind upon reading the first three chapters is something that I'm
almost constantly telling Bob Schroek..

"You have an unusual gift for kicking me squarely in emotional
sore spots, old friend."

Uranus' near-irrational hatred of youma rang so many resonating
note inside my head, it was like listening to a carillion.

"We should kill them all. Damned dirty <Japs/Niggers/Chinks/Gooks/
Flips/Jews/Arabs/Spicks/fill-in-the-blank-with-any-ethnic-group-you-hate>,
they're all alike. You say some of 'em are kids?! HAH! Nits grow up to be
lice, that's all! Kill 'em now and they won't bother us later!"

         I'm a half-breed from a mixed marriage. I caught shit from both
sides, from two angry families that felt their son/daughter had betrayed
them by consorting with the enemy and breeding monsters who mixed THEIR
precious blood with the filthy ichor flowing through the veins of their
vile foes. So I'm bitterly familiar with the language and the hatred.

Your story was FAR too close to what I remember from my childhood
for me to be comfortable with. It had a painful air of reality.

That makes it a better story. And something of a bitter one, but
then, aren't the best stories the ones that force us to learn and grow,
even when we don't want to?

So far, so good. It's not a comfortable story to read, but it's
a good one. I'll be waiting to see how it turns out.

         Ed Becerra.
