for him, I ain't gonna deal with any deals HE made, no

procurer of young girls. First Pops then the Chardins and
who knows who else, ya sold 'em off to."

"Yeah, actually it was. It might make him wake up and
realize that he needs to take care of you. Not you takin'
care of him. I mean how often do you have to put him to bed
like a little baby? How often has he done any work around
the house or done anything to earn money?  I mean  he don't
even try to teach you Anything Goes.

You are a good martial artist, but you don't really practice
Anything Goes. You do a lot Kempo, about Fifth Dan. You do
some Kendo, around Third Dan. You do some Anything Goes but
you haven't been trained in any thing above the absolute
basics and not all of them."

" You really think so."

" Definitely you are quite capable of going to almost any
dojo in Tokyo and getting a job teaching. "

"Wow"

" Frankly I think you and your sisters need to move on. I
know your eldest sister has a standing proposal of marriage.
I really fear she might lose out on that if she stays here
to long.

I  would like to see your other sister move out also. I
think she could do well in college and she could probably do
it if she didn't have this albatross on her neck."

"Albatross"

"yeah, the dojo and Pops and the family. I know she loves
you all but you are putting her under a lot of pressure to
keep producing the money for all the bills. I mean like I
said before, your Dad and Pops are just parasites on you
girls. I support myself, I help pay as many of the bills as
I can but Pop's past misdeeds keeps piling up the expenses.
I considered opening up the dojo and teaching to make more
dough but I figure that would just make things worse. If
they don't have to, neither of the old men, or rather old
spoiled brats would ever get off their duffs and work."

"Growf!"

" If that is the way you feel, why don't you just leave my
house."

"OK"

" Wait, where are you going?"

" I am going to pack, then I am moving to an apartment.
Didn't you notice your Dad just through me out. I'll see you
around. "

" What about our engagement?"

" I am not ready to marry, Heck I just recently realized I
don't know how to speak to someone without insulting them.
Of course that is because I grew up without hearing anyone
speak to someone with insulting them or kowtowing to them
and I don't surrender to anyone."
" Once I learn something about how to talk to someone, I
would like to come back and ask you out. Until then I would
like to write you, maybe we can talk over the phone but I
just don't don't trust Pops  or your dad nearly as much as I
do their Master."

" You really think they are that bad?"

" Look you have seen how they try to force everything off on
us kids. They lie, cheat and steal, they haven't kept a
promise unless it benefits them and never mind how it
affects us. To them, we don't count at all. Shucks can you
believe Your mom trying to keep a Seppuku contract with you.
Especially after they found out you didn't even know about
it, even at the time you signed it!"
" No, I believe that if we leave them, it will force them to
grow up. At the least it will force them to support
themselves. It will also help you girls to get on with your
lives."

" Whaaa everyone hates me! No one pities a broken old man
anymore.

I got really really stuck on World Hero. I know where I want
to go after he gets back to Japan but I can't figure out how
to describe the early days with Nodoka. So I tried writing
something really different.

I kind of went a little overboard with Soun here. I don't
think he is that much of crybaby, I think he would have a
lot to say. Maybe even agreeing in the end. I do think he
cares about his kids, he just lost anyway to show it
effectively. If I come back to this world, I would expand on
his role considerably. I just had a hard time indicating
when he was speaking without using the sound effect here.

Akane is Ranma's favorite fiancee. She is also the only
Tendo daughter in the room at this point in time. I think
here she has learned to listen to him, this is based more on
the manga version of her than anything else. I figure the
martial arts levels are probably about correct, so is the
styles she uses.

The Nodoka bit is one I have wanted to try for a while. What
if Ranma refused to accept any more of Genma's deals, and
told his mother what he thought of her for making it. I
didn't do much with it here but it helped refine the ideas
in my mind. I used Snikt as the sound of a katana being
drawn.

The child abuse approach is I think valid. As to whether or
not Nodoka had any idea of what Genma had planned, is
debatable. I hope however people will show their opinions in
stories, rather that complaints. However I do think the not
a mother is a valid opinion based on people I know who
adapted and then met their real parents. Giving up a child
can be the best thing you can do for the child but I don't
believe it gives you the right to come back afterwards and
try to force the child to treat you as a parent. YOu are a
sperm donor or an egg donor, but a parent raises you and
loves you, In My Opinion.
Again if you disagree write a story and show me why.

Genma of course didn't get a role except as a sound effect.

C&C will be accepted and read. I am interested in your
opinion of the story and the style and all the rest of the
details. I just want to see more stories. So I'll take any
excuse to suggest you'all write more.

Question [private replies please] Do they eat ice cream with
chopstick in Japan? I saw something recently that seemed to
indicate they only rarely use a spoon and it got me curious.
I can't picture say a hot fudge sundae being eaten with
chopsticks.
