While I have to agree with Thermopyle on just about
every major point, I do want to see the rest of the fic
that you have set up. You can always fix the prologue later.

Heck, after seeing a few chapters and where you go with them,
I'm sure that you'll get some advice and suggestions on how to do
so.

That being said, at the start of the prologue, Ranma and Kasumi
are both depicted as elderly. As such, they may be finally looking
back on their lives and seeing what they might have done differently
had they known better. Their families and friends might have come
out of the whole thing better. While Ranma might not regret having
done what he had done, he may have regretted having had to do it
in the first place. And I'm sure that Kasumi would have liked it if
Dr. Tofu had never been driven to drinking or drugs, which might
not have happened if she had never married him in the first place
(considering that he probably first took to drinking to 'relax' enough
to talk to her like a normal person, which he wouldn't have needed to
do if she was safely unavailable as someone else's fiancee and then wife).

Prologue: Part 05 - "To the Future..."

We see Ranma and Kasumi sitting by the Koi pond, holding each other.  The

light from the

full moon shines down on them, adding an extra air of tranquility to the

scene.

"Kasumi," Ranma asks tenderly, "did you ever wish that we could have a

chance?"

"Yes, I did," Kasumi replies, "especially after all of the problems you

and I went through."

That night, when Ranma and Kasumi were asleep, a disembodied voice says,

"Wish granted."

The next day, on June 17th, 2,100, Ranma and Kasumi Saotome died in their

sleep.
