Subject: [FFML] [Website] FFML MiniArchive Addendum

Just wanted to give a brief apology and update from the message earlier about the FFML MiniArchive.  I had checked the server before I made my post earlier to the list.  However, approximately five minutes after posting, the power went out, thereby ensuring that no one was able to access it :)

Anyway, in deference to Netscape/Mozilla users who seem to be getting an error with the port 123 URL, I have also set port 8080 to listen for connections.  Port 80 is also listening, although it probably won't be usable until ATT Broadband lifts the block on incoming connections to that port.

In summary, the following two links are usable:

http://miniarchive.dyndns.org:8080/cgi-bin/MiniArchive.exe
http://miniarchive.dyndns.org:123/cgi-bin/MiniArchive.exe

Additionally, some browsers may incorrectly assume that the .exe indicates this is a downloadable file.  It is not; it is merely a VB program that returns an html page in the same manner that a page ending in .pl is a perl program that returns an html page, etc.  If you have this problem, simply tell your browser to run the file and it should display correctly.

Again, I apologize for taking time and bandwidth; however, this archive contains most of the fanfics that have passed through the FFML since 1997 and with the official archive only going back to June right now, I don't want these stories (especially many of the older ones) to become lost in the ether.  Have fun reading.

Thanks again,
Mike Dickinson
