Already done. eGroups, BTW, merged with Yahoo. ffml was taken by the
Final Fantasy Mailing List, so I grabbed amffml (Anime Manga yadda yadda).
But for the reasons Ed just listed, this is not a good choice, so I'm
looking for a better one.

Not to insult White Wolf, who's gone above and beyond the
call many times to keep this list going, but we really, REALLY
need an emergency backup list, folks.
WWolf, have you considered a really quick setup of a temp
list over at eGroups? Granted, they limit posting size, and there
ARE those annoying ads they put at the top of every post, but for
something meant for temporary use, it can get us through this crisis
until you can find some new bandwidth.
Here's hoping..
