Actually, the idea of a Musk village was invalidated in the
Manga. Cologne tells that Lime, Mint, and Herb are basically the last
reminants of the Musk. There is also no indication that they were ever at
war with the Amazons. Something a lot of fanfic writers like to do for
some reason.
Cologne did indeed say something to this effect, but it doesn't mean there can't
be more Musk that she doesn't know about. Cologne isn't omniscient. In fact, in
an earlier scene she tells Herb that she'd thought the Musk to have been
completely extinct.
Well. I find it a bit hard to swallow that no one in the Musk
ever thought of that...[Thinks back to Lime and Mint...] Okay, never
mind. It's perfectly plausable. Herb seems to be in character here
though.
I think they probably thought about it, and long ago figured out (or learned the
hard way) that it wouldn't work. I don't remember whether it was explicitly
shown in the story, but it seems pretty clear that the Chishuitong automatically
turns water cold, just as its opposite, the kettle thingy, automatically turns
water hot.
