Hi Kyhdin
I hope the following helps you with your queries.
I do have one or two questions though. I can buy that Mayumi and her
family
can't see Loren for what she is, but wouldn't Loren know? I mean, the Old
Ones, at least as far as I know, were/are Gods. I mean, she should have
picked up the fact that Mayumi's not what she seems right off the bat, or
at
least gotten a funny feeling in a house full of Shinma.
What is an Old One?
--------------------------
I think you maybe jumping to conclusions about what the definition of an Old
One is,
I am not using the Cthulian definition, (which in itself is just one of
many).
As of yet the only reference that has been made to the "Old Ones" is in
terms
of age.
Chisato
----------
In the TV series, Chisato is a Shinma. I am just following this idea. I have
slightly
altered the concept as in the TV series Chisato is more or less unaware that
she
is a Shimna until she awakens (i.e. the egg within her breaks). However, in
this one
she is exactly aware of what she is doing and is far more manipulative.
Loren and her abiltity to detect Mayumi
-----------------------------------------------------
Hmm, Loren is of a different race from Mayumi. She has a different kind of
"sense" and a
different kind of "power". She is neither aware of the existance of Shinma,
nor is Mayumi aware
of the existence of Loren's kind. Basically, the assumption is that the
power of one is
totally alien to the power of the other. Loren knows that Mayumi has been
acting odd, but
just puts that down to the way her family is. You are right in that perhaps
I should have
made Loren a bit more suspicious about how Mayumi maniplates the others, but
the
idea was that the attempt at "feeding" that Mayumi makes upsets Loren so
much that she
just leaves.
I hope that helps, and thanks for the comments.
Cheers
Alex

Granted, a Shinma human guise might hold up under casual scruitiny,
especially when Loren has no reason to take Mayumi at anything other then
face value but after watching her scare those punks away, and she had to
feel
it when Mayumi lost control in the park, wouldn't Loren choose to probe a
bit
more closely?
