I was, of course, referring to my own poem (If Cabbits Were Horses), posted

several days back.

However, the esteemed Jay Kominek, who, like myself, ignores his own fanfics

to write poetry about cabbits, has upped the ante.

Sonnet I: The Carrot

A Tragicomedy

Since lettuce nor tomato nor cucumber;

But orange carrot doth oversways her mind;

Why with this veg doth Sasami draw her;

Whose taste is not that swell to humankind?

The carrot does call her as if a shout;

Against that seige Ryo-ohki does fall;

Even though towards Ryuoh she was stout;

Nor Tenchi stop her from their Siren-like call!

O fearful plant, oh orange treat! Where alack

Shall grounds best treat from grounds chest lie hid?

For what but Washu's hand could hold you back?

When not even Ryoko could forbid?

Against the carrot to you none have might,

But they who give them to do still shine bright.

(Yes, I think the metre is off too. Stupid sonnets.)
