Using any but the most common (among fics) Japanese words in a fic
written in English tends to lose some readers at the best of times.
This being the point of the fic, and this basically being the only
Japanese word in the fic, you *really* need to explain it...
Yeah, I know the probable retorts. But it's as textbook a case of this
problem as I've seen recently.
