"I..."
"Akane did it!"
"Is she..."
"Oh, my..."
"I never..."
The fear grew in her heart, leaving her numb in its wake. Akane
backed away from the ever-growing crowd of students, eyes darting from one
face to another to find only horror staring back at her.
"FREAK!"
Um...this the the same bunch of students that watches a guy who turns into
a girl with water, chi blasts, and such styles of combat as Tea Ceremony
and Potty Trainer weapons?
I don't believe it. This is just as bad as that fanfic once that had
Cologne firmly disbelieve that Ranma could have been affected by magic,
because "Magic doesn't exist."
Concerning Akane's reluctance to use her powers, why? I mean, she's tried
the super soba before, meaning that she was quite willing to gain
"freakish" powers that would help her in combat.
The problem here is that the Ranmaverse has the unusual as the norm, so
the very setting is against this fic's conception. You could change this
through time in the story, of course, but it would take far longer than
just these two chapters.
Anyway, I don't think that this is a viable idea, unless you're willing to
spend quite a long time describing how people slowly changed their
attitudes (through an external source, I'd imagine). But then, that would
probably be setting up the fic to take on a direction that's different
than what you're intending with this.

The sardines weren't worth the trouble. A few more shots, then
Ryoga-san would overheat and explode. Ducking around a corner,
I managed to lose him as I entered the ramshackle residence of
my Anime supplier.
One look at his face and I knew that I had been betrayed. "Tell me,"
I insisted. He refused, so I slammed him against the wall.
"Last chance. Where can Ranma-Ranma find good fanfics?"
"Try Jason Liao," he whispered, before he slumped to the floor.
I heard the sounds of a door splintering as I left through the
window, one step ahead of Tendo Heavy Industries...
