WHOA, XCOM?? You'd better know what you're doing, Microprose once stomped
on someone who had written an XCOM fic (even if they, in the end, posted it
on their own site...). Microprose is now owned by Hasbro, but they might be
as protective of their series (that I luv! :) ) as they were.
Anyway, this mail was to warn you of the possibility of being stomped on by
you-know-who for using the XCOM series without authorization. I still
haven't read this. I'll probably send real C&C later today.
I wouldn't worry about it too much. In the end, Microprose warmed to
the idea, and even distributed the guy's fanfic *with the game* (at
least, one or more of the versions they published after coming to said
decision).
