Those of you who took the time to read this, probably
found it boring. This part gets better. It really has
a great story line, but it take a little for it to get
to that part. Just keep reading please.
Chapter 3: In Search.
They walked past the first tree in the forest. They
stopped. They looked ahead and saw seemingly endless
trees.
They walked through the trees very slowly watching
out for monsters. They had only been walking for 3
minutes
when that same monster they saw back when they were
younger appeared. It was about 20 feet away. "M-Magus,
look..." Kai stuttered. "I know, Kai," He replied.
"Stay calm" Aknar said. They frog creature looked at
them.
"Oh, know he's seen us," Aknar said. The frog
creatures tail split into two, he lowered his head,
and jumped
straight up. He then landed with his tail stuck in
the ground and opened his mouth. He tail stayed spit
but two more
frogs came. Their tales split and their mouths opened
at they bounded towards the three. The one in the
front which
called the others lept at Aknar first. He kicked it
while it was in the air, and it shot across the air,
and landed on the
ground behind the others, which were almost
attacking the three. Aknar, Kai, and Magus stood in a
row. Aknar
quickly picked up a sturdy stick. it was about 4
feet long and 1 inch around. Another jumped at him, he
held back
the stick and lunged at the frog with it, hitting it
right in the head, and causing it to flip backward and
land on it's
back. Another ran after him, and didn't jump, it
slashed it's tail across Aknars leg making a few small
cuts on his
leg. Aknar flinched and kept going. He impaled it on
his stick and flung it off, kind of grossed out. Then
the first
one he attacked lept at him again, and he hit it's
head with the stick killing it. Then the other lept at
his stomach,
and he blocked the attack with the stick. Instead of
biting the stomach, he bit the stick. That broke it in
half. The
frog fell onto the ground. He then
impaled it with the broken pieces.
Aknar turned to the other two. "Gee, thanks for
helping." He said to them "Well you looked like you
had it
handled," Kai said, as Aknar bent down and looked at
the cuts. "Truthfully, Aknar, I'm impressed" Magus
said
looking at the dead frogs. There were three small cuts
on his leg. Thankfully, the tail only knicked him. He
stood up
and the three walked
past the frogs.
A bit later they all stopped to rest. They found a
nice place to rest a few minutes. There was a fallen
log, which could
seat the three of
them. They all sat.
Aknar sighed, and said: "It's alot of walking. And
What are we going to do when we need to sleep, and
there are
monsters? We know very well the strongest monster
lurk at night." Magus looked at him. "Good question.
Staying
up as a guard wouldn't work. One person could not
handle the monsters. We cannot sleep in this forest no
matter
what! For all we there could be a monster looking at
us now thinking 'mmm, feast,'" Aknar and Kai looked
behind
them. There was nothing. "We need weapons!" Kai
shouted. "What would your weapon be, Kai?" Magus asked
her. "Dirk." She replied, happily. "You Aknar?" "A
sword" He said. "I wouldn't care really... Either a
sword or a
spear," Magus
said.
"Magus, Aknar, we need to find a way to sleep," Kai
said. "It's okay Kai, I sleep light, I'll wake up if
anything
comes," Magus said. "I don't sleep light..." Aknar
said. "Unless I have those dreams," he continued. "You
still
having those?" Magus asked. "Yes, I am..." "You
never told is what they're about" Kai said. "And I
won't"
Aknar replied. Aknar said: "let's get
going!" They all stood up and began to walk.
They had to rest several times, and surprisingly
there were no monsters. But now it was dusk. On the
verge of
nightfall, when the
powerful monsters came.
"Maguus Aknaar, it's almost dark!" Kai whined.
"Kai! You knew this would be hard!" Aknar told her.
"I'm
sorry..." She said as she was looking down. "It's
fine, Kai, we'll get out before something happens to
us," Magus
assured
her.
It had just turned night. They heard something! They
looked up, and saw two bats. They were 4 feet long,
and their
wingspan was 10 feet. They couldn't believe it. But
they just passed over them. Kai shivered in fear."Kai,
don't
worry" Magus said to her. "Let's run..." Aknar
suggested. "Good idea." They both said at the same
time. They all
ran as fast as they can, no monsters attacked, they
couldn't catch up, and they finally made it outside of
the forest.
It took them all day,
but they made it.
"Finally!" Kai exclaimed as they all sat about 50
yards from the forest. They sat in a small circle, and
there were a
few small trees around them. "We need a fire." Aknar
said "But how..." he continued. "Let's just sleep" Kai
said
with her eyes
half closed.
They all slept, and of course, Magus was soon
awaken by the sound of 2 foot cockroach hissing. He
woke the
others. They all stood, still kind of tired, but when
they noticed the roach they were up. Aknar, Magus, and
Kai ran
to a tree which was a few feet from where they were
sleeping. "I think sticks work," Aknar said and broke
off a
stick he. Then the others did. They climbed in the
tree. The roach approached the tree. They were all in
it, but the
roach clawed at the tree. Aknar looked at it, and
jumped down at it! He stuck the stick in it's back,
and jumped on
it. It made a hissing sound. It
screached and slowly fell to the ground, and died.
The three dropped the sticks, and lie
down, quickly falling asleep in their old spots.
The next morning they awoke at dawn... "I can't
believe it's already been a day," Kai said. "I wonder
what our
parents think... I hope they don't think we're
dead," Magus said as he stood up. They had only just
awoke, and
could now realize their surroundings. To their right
was a small river, which flowed out of the forest, and
between
two mountains. To their left was another area of
forest, which was more condensed than the one behind
them which
they had just came through. There were a few trees
around them, none which contained any kind of fruit.
None of
them had eaten in over 24 hours, so Aknar pulled out
an apple for everyone and said: "One of us should go
fish for
food. I am sure we are all hungry, and we cannot
continue our search without food." "Why don't we all
go?" Magus
asked. "Yes, I guess we should,
in case anything should attack us.
They all walked to the river, and Magus carried the
fishing pole. He baited the hook with a small piece of
deer
meat which was in a compartment on the fishing
pole. He lowered the fishing pole into the river and
waited.
"Oooh, I'm hungry," Kai complained. "We all are,"
Aknar added. "We should try and start a fire now,"
Aknar
suggested. So, Kai, and Aknar walked to a tree and
broke some firewood, they began to violently rub
sticks
together. They were sitting a few feet from the
river, and were trying to get them to catch on fire.
With this
progress it would most
likely take an hour to do this.
Awhile later, Aknar and Kai had started the fire,
and were too hungry to do anything else. Magus finally
got a
nibble. Something was on the end of his rod! He
quickly pulled it up, and a large fish came out. It
was 1 foot three
inches long, which is pretty good for
eating. They quickly cooked it and ate it.
After they ate, they all were ready to go. They
walked through the field and toward one of the
mountains. The
mountain had a cave which ran through the center.
"Should we go through?" Aknar asked as he approached
the
cave. "It's the only way," Kai said. "It'll be
dangerous, but I think we can make it," Magus added.
"If we're
careful..."
Aknar said.
They looked through, it was very dimly lit, the only
light was coming from the opening. Their eyes would
have to
adjust before they could even see anything. They
all began to walk through. They were in order. Aknar
was in
front, followed by Magus, then Kai. They
walked until they saw a figure in the dark cave.
"What's that?" Aknar asked. The others looked and Kai
said: "It could be anything. Who knows what's in
here?"
Aknar bent down and picked up a rock. The thing
moved. It had obviously seen them. It ran at them, and
came into
a view. It was a spider. A very very large spider.
It's fangs were huge. The spider ran after Aknar, for
Aknar was in
front, and he would come after him first. Aknar
quickly through the rock at it's head. The spider was
hit in the head.
It jumped back and Aknar picked up another. He threw
it at his head again, and it backed up, and dodged it.
The
spider lept at Aknar, and pinned him on the ground.
A large ball ov acidic vomit formed in it's mouth. Kai
and
Magus were standing by him and had to think fast.
Kai pushed the spider off, and was disgusted at the
feeling of
the spiders skin. But the spider fell off, and the
three picked up more rocks, and they all hurled the
rocks at its
head. They all hit! The head of the spider fell
off, and grotesque fluids were flowing from it's neck.
It fell to the
ground, and
stayed there.
"That was close!" Aknar exclaimed, "Thanks," He
continued. "No problem" Kai said. "If only we had some
weapons, it would be alot easier to defeat these
monsters," Aknar explained. "We haven't found a town
though,
and we probably won't for awhile," Magus said to
Aknar. They all continued through the cave, and very
quickly
came to the
end.
They walked out of the cave. "That was scary," Kai
said. They all began walking through the field. The
day was
warm, and the sky was clear like the day before.
"Annoying spider... It was a very difficult defeat,"
Magus said. "I
was the one who was pounced on,"
Aknar said. They continued walking.
On the way Aknar broke off a stick from a tree in
case another monster came. One did. A frog came. One
like
before, with the fangs
and everything.
They stood in a row. "Oh, no, another one!" Kai
exclaimed. It was charging towards them. Aknar took
out the
stick. The frog was right near him, he moved and it
passed him. The frog charged again, and it attempted
to slash
him with it's tail. It missed, Aknar dodged it just
by an inch. He then brought the stick down onto him,
through the
neck, which killed it
quickly. They continued.
The walks were extremely long, and tiring. But if
they were to find this man they had to. They sat to
rest under a
very large oak
tree.
They sat under the tree which was towering over
them, about 70 feet. Aknar sighed. Magus looked at
Kai: "Are
you okay, right now?" He asked her. "Yes, yes, I'm
fne, just a little tired out, but otherwise, I am
fine," She told
him. "I'm hungry, I do not want to go another day
without any food. This journey is very tiring, and I
am thirsty, as
well as hungry," Aknar explained. He looked in front
of him, and noticed a pond with drinkable water. He
walked
over to
it.
Aknar lowered his head into the pond and took a
small sip from the water. Then the others came next to
him and
did the same. The water was cool, and very
refreshing. They then walked back to the oak tree, and
they took out
an apple each. They each ate an apple. Now they
only had 4 apples left. They rested a few more
minutes.
"Let's go," Aknar said. "Fine, we'll go. I am rested
enough now.." Kai said as she stood and stretched.
"That's
good," Aknar said, "We'll never be able to fight
without rest," He continued. After Aknar pointed out
the obvious
they began
walking more.
They had been walking awhile when they saw a wolf.
Only it was standing. It was crouched over, with large
claws,
and it looked very strong. They had no way to kill
it. The only thing they could do was hide up in a
small tree.
The three climbed into a tree to the left of them.
They looked at it. It was walking around looking. It
had smelled
something. The three sat in the tree watching as it
ran around. Aknar told Kai: "You better be careful..."
"What do
you think? Do you think just because I am a girl I
will not be able to do anything as well as you?" She
replied. "No,
I was just saying to be careful, I don't want anyone
to get hurt," He said. "Oh...Heh" She mumbled, feeling
kind of
stupid. They all continued looking down at the wolf,
which was not out of the way yet. It seemed as if it
had heard
them, but was not coming towards the tree.
It was still running around, back and forth.
Their surrounding were simple. A field as far as
they could see, with a few scattered trees. No water.
No forests.
Just grass, and
some trees.
It had been awhile now, and it was still wandering
around, searching. It seemed it was losing interest.
It walked
back and forth more until it
finally disappeared into the distance.
The three jumped down from the tree. "That was
close!" Kai exclaimed. "That monster seemed powerful,
and
could've easily ripped us apart...
unless we had some weapons..." Magus said.
Chapter 4: Finally getting somewhere.
They walked and walked, for awhile. Finally they
saw a very large object in the distance. "Oh... it's
a... a... a..
town!" Kai exclaimed. "It is! We finally have
weapons. Let's go.." Magus said. Sunset was pretty
soon, and night
would be when the shops closed. So
they ran. They finally reached the town.
"We need weapons," Aknar said. "We know," Kai added.
They quickly walked to the weapon shop. They entered.
The weapon shop was a small place. The walls and
shelfs had weapons on them, and they were marked with
price.
They looked at the daggers. They had "5 Gold Coins"
Marked on them. They then looked at the dirks which
were
marked "7 Gold Coins". They bought 1 dirk, and two
daggers. It came to 17 Gold. They all walked out of
the
weapons
shop.
"Let's stay at an inn!" Kai yelled. "We can just
camp..." Aknar said. "Camp!? AGAIN!? I don't want to
camp, it's
too dangerous," Kai exclaimed. "Well, okay," Aknar
said. "Yes, I think it would be best to stay at an
inn." Magus
added. They searched
for a good inn.
They found an inn for 2 gold. Now they were reduced
to 1. They walked into the inn. The ground was lined
with
bricks. There was one small circular table, and
three beds. They sat on the bed each. "I'm hungry,"
Kai said.
"Aren't we all!" Aknar exclaimed. "I will go buy
food from the inn keeper," Magus said. He walked out.
He returned with some assorted vegetables,
and some meat. They ate, drank, then slept. until...
They were woken up by a sound in the night. Someone
ran into their room. "We need everyone in town to
help, we
are being stormed by monsters!" He exclaimed. They
all quickly stood up and the man ran out of the room.
They
heard the sound of the people fighting the monsters
outside. "Oh, no. I don't want to fight.." Kai
mumbled. They all
stretched, picked up their
new weapons and ran outside.
They stood behind everyone. Currently two people were
fighting them. They had swords. The small opening in
the
town where the gate was, was where they were coming
in. The rest was surrounded by sturdy brick wall. One
man
had just stabbed a frog creature (demon frog) in the
back with his sword. Behind those monsters, it seemed
to go on
forever. Giant ants, and spiders, the wolves. "The
man who attacked us must be making a small attack on
this
village," Aknar exclaimed. "That man's name..."
Someone said who was next to them, "Is Dorgan, he has
been
attacking us with his monsters for a year now." Aknar
looked at Magus. "His name is Dorgan? We must find him
and destroy him!" He said. They watched again. One
of the men was just slashed in the leg by a Demon
frog. his
leg was bleeding profusely. He had to back up.
Someone else took his spot. He had a small dagger. The
other man
was fighting off a spider. The spider spit something
out. It landed on the mans foot, burning through his
shoe, and
giving him third degree burns. The man backed out and
was replaced by...Before anyone else could come up
Aknar,
Kai, and Magus ran in front. Aknar quickly plunged
his dagger deep into the spiders back. It died. (the
gate could
only fit two monsters at a time so that was how
they were killing them) The other man backed away.
Another
Demon frog attacked them, and at the same time, a
giant ant. Aknar cut off a leg of the ant, while Magus
stabbed
it's head. And Kai loaned the Demon Frog the pointy
end of her Dirk. They both died, and a wolf approached
them.
The wolf stood and looked at them. It took up all
the room, no other monster could approach. The three
of them
attacked it at the same time. Magus stabbed it's
arm, and Aknar got the other arm. Then Kai slashed
it's chest.
The Wolf pulled it's arm back and with it's last bit
of energy slashed Kai across the wrist. She had two
large cuts on
her arm. Some blood escaped them. She kept going
though. Four demon frogs came through the gate. Aknar
stabbed the one on the far left in the head, and
Magus stabbed another in the back. Kai killed two. She
stabbed
one, and quickly slashed the other one. There was
another spider. It spewed acidic vomit at Aknar. He
was
handling this one, while the other two backed off.
Aknar dodged to vomit and jumped back at the spider
with a blow to it's head.
In the distance something large was on it's way. It
was approaching at a great speed, and they only saw it
larger as
it got closer. It was a snake! Three hundred feet
long. It swallowed most of the enemies, and did not
move after.
The townspeople gasped, but stayed. It
was dark, and some of the people had torches.
Aknar killed another Demon Frog, and Magus killed a
spider. But A few more were defeated. And that was the
last
of the monsters... Besides the snake. The snake was
there, and noticed the towns people. It was a great
threat.
Aknar Kai and Magus ran ontop of the Snake. It didn't
seem to notice them. It finally turned. Aknar walked
on it'shead, and quickly stabbed it's eyes. He stabbed
it again, except alot deeper. It died. All the
villagers cheered. They sloped down and walked back
in. And quickly fell asleep on their beds.
They awoke the next morning. "Oh, you're awake!" a
man said as he walked in. "All of the townspeople put
their
money together and decided to give you this" He
handed them 30 Gold. "Wow, thanks." Aknar said. The
man
walked out, and they walked out of the
town, and walked around it. They continued...
Just behind the town was a forest. They began to walk
through it. It didn't seem to be longer than the other
one, but
it was still a thick forest. And Dorgan could have
made more monsters. "Magus...?" Kai asked. "Do you
think that we will find Dorgan soon?" "I do not know.
I hope we defeat him soon." They kept walking.
There was something in the distance. It was 4 demon
frogs. They all stood in a row and looked at the Kai,
Magus
and Aknar, ready to attack. "This should be easy now
that we have weapons," Aknar said. The frog ran after
him
but he stabbed it before it got to him. Kai looked at
another as it was charging for her. She quickly threw
her dirk,
and it landed in it's back. It died. At the same
time one charged at Magus. He stabbed it hard. That
one died.
Aknar ran after the last one which was standing
there. It was still. Then it charged as Aknar did. It
attempted to bite him, but Aknar stabbed it's head.
The last one died.
Kai walked over to the frog she had defeated and
pulled the dagger out of it's back. They kept walking.
They
talked at the same time. "That man..." Aknar began.
"Said it was Dorgan, but how do we know it was the
same
person?" he asked. Magus stated: "He probably is.
Besides, if he was not the same person, we're still
doing the
world a great deed, if we defeat this man. You saw...
You saw how many monster he let out against that
village. If it
weren't for his mistake in creating that snake, we
quite possibly could have been dead by now." "You're
right!"
Kai exclaimed. "We should definitly continue seeking
this man," Aknar said. They continued through the
forest.
They reached the end of the forest in the middle of
the afternoon. "YAY!" Kai exclaimed, as she did last
time she
left the forest. "Apple?" Aknar asked. "Yes," They
both said at the same time. Aknar handed them each
one, andthey walked across the field at the same time
they were eating the apple.
After they had finished their apple, they stopped
to rest. They sat in a row, from Aknar, to Magus. They
were
sitting on the ground. "The weapons are useful!" Kai
stated. "I think we will be able to faster... Nothing
will stop
me from finding out what is happening," Aknar said.
They all left in a few minutes, and continued. They
walked
across a seemingly endless field until the sun began
to set. Then they had to begin making the fire, and
find food.
Around them was a small pond, which seemed capable of
fishing in. And there were a few scattered tree, on
just by
the pond, which was very tall, and one about ten
feet tall they were under. Aknar was going fishing
this time, and
the other two were staying to make the fire.
