Pixie glanced up, as Genki stirred, but he remained asleep. She
sighed, and leaned back against the wall, poking at the fire with a stick.
It had been three days since they'd fallen down here, and Genki hadn't
woken up yet, at least not while she'd been there. She'd left the cave a
few times to get water, and gather some food. She had forced herself to
wade deep enough into the water to catch a few fish; two of those were
hanging over the fire now.
Three days, since they had fallen down here to the lagoon. Since she
had very nearly drowned, and Genki had fallen ill. She'd never been very
good with sicknesses; she just didn't know what to do, beyond keeping their
body warm and their head cool. Pixie had already done everything that she
could in that respect; he was wrapped in his blanket, and she'd used the
wet shirt he'd been wearing when they'd hit the water as a compress. It
was all that she knew to do.
For the rest of the time, she'd been doing little but thinking.
Thinking about her short visit to the human world, on the first day; about
something that, in hindsight, should have been obvious to her. For
everything she'd seen there that was different, all the wonders, like those
buildings that touched the sky, or those cars... For all that wasn't like
her world, there was one thing very much the same. All those people had
just been trying to make it from day to day. Those families she'd seen in
the park, people she'd passed on the street... they were all just doing
their best to live. And just like in her world, not all of them were good.
Those men trying to rape that girl was proof of that, but they had been the
exception, not the rule.
It was just like the humans and monsters in her world; not all were
good, but most were. She'd realized that she had learned something in his
world, something that she probably wouldn't have if she hadn't gone there -
just as the Oracle had told her. After that, she'd started to wonder if
the Oracle's answer had been as much of a lie as she had first assumed,
when they realized that Nightstorm was in control of them. In turn, she'd
begun to wonder about the rest of their words. What if, even under
Nightstorm's control, they had told them to truth? And if so, then had
they missed it when the answer came true? She had the feeling that she was
missing just one obvious piece, but every time she thought she was coming
close to the answer... She shook her head.
That had managed to fill her whole first day, to shield her from what
she knew she really needed time to think about. One of the two things that
she needed to think about, she corrected herself. She still hadn't really
thought about the vision she'd had during the time Genki had been trying to
revive her, either, but somehow... she thought that she already understood
that.
No, what had occupied her thoughts over the last day and a half had
been her joined dream with Genki. No matter how she'd tried to put it out
of her mind, it had just kept creeping up on her. Then, just when she
finally thought for sure that she'd gotten away, and let herself partly
doze off, she'd found herself dreaming it all over again, though this time
by herself. After that, she'd known that she couldn't just ignore it. Of
course, actually trying to examine it bit by bit had produced its own set
of problems. There was her embarrassment at having forgotten to shield
herself, and the memory of how... good... it had felt to hear him say that
he loved her, even if it had just been a dream.
No, she thought to herself. It hadn't just been a dream. That was
the real reason that it was haunting her so. The Genki in the dream had
been the real Genki; he had been the one to say it. That, she knew, was
what frightened her more than anything else. It hadn't been just her
dream... it had been their dream. If it would have been just herself, her
subconscious giving voice to... She shook her head again, as her heart
trembled.
Great Forest help her, she wanted him to say the same while they were
awake, because... she was... "I am... in love... with Genki," she
whispered hoarsely. The world lurched from the admission. Yet... somehow,
she felt much better, now. The butterflies that had been crashing around
increasingly harder in her stomach calmed; her guts began to untwist, and
for the first time since the dream... Since she'd first seen him after
coming to in his world, she felt... at ease with him. Six small, simple
words, but they made a world of difference.
Perhaps it was just chance, or perhaps in some way he'd been
listening, waiting for her to admit her feelings, but Genki stirred. She
looked at him, blinking. A moment passed, and then his eyes slid open. He
looked around slowly, and then his gaze focused on her. "I don't suppose,"
he croaked, "that you got the name of the golem that ran me over?" She
couldn't help it; she started laughing. She knew that a lot of it was just
relief, but it washed away the last of her doubts. She was in love with
him.
"Here," she said, picking up the canteen. "It's water." He accepted
it from her, and took a long drink. Then, after handing it back to her, he
propped himself up on his elbows, looking about.
"How long have I been out, Pixie? Where are we? The last that I
really remember, you were going for some firewood. After that, things are
a bit hazy," he told her slowly. Pixie nodded.
"When I got back, you were pretty close to passing out. I found this
cave while looking for wood, and thought that it would be better than out
in the open. You've been sleeping three days now," she explained. He
winced.
"Three days? By now, even Golem's got to be about ready to throw
Megumi off a cliff," he said, struggling to sit up. "I hope they're all
alright." She helped him up, and then turned to the roasting fish - which
were now charred well beyond recognition. She sighed, as he glanced at
what was left of the fish, and did a double take. "Let me guess-"
"Don't," she said dryly. He grinned slightly, and nodded.
"I won't," he told her. They looked at each other a moment, and then
both laughed.
"A cook, I'm not," she announced. "That was always Blue's job; most
anything I touch usually ends up in worse shape than those fish." He
grinned again, and then frowned at his injured leg.
"My leg is stiff as a board; it's gonna take a little while to get it
moving again," he said, as he very slowly began to draw his knee toward his
chest. She winced, feeling the echo of pain through the bond in her own
leg, and nodded.
"The sooner the better," she told him, rubbing her knee reflexively.
It was just phantom pain, a ghost of what he was feeling, so she could
block it out if she wanted to, but it wasn't worth the bother. Besides,
she admitted to herself, she didn't really want to close off any part of
the bond right now. Sighing, she idly wondered how long she'd be able to
stand this, as she sliced down the charred fish and strung up the last two
she'd caught. "I suppose that I'll get the hang of this eventually. I
might have to burn an ocean of fish to do it, but I will," she said dryly,
turning back to him. Genki looked at her a moment, and then sighed.
"Pixie, I... Can we talk... for a minute?" he said quietly, his sense
somewhat resigned, and partly... She couldn't quite put her finger on it.
It was like... hopefulness, but more than just hope. Slowly, she nodded,
and sat down beside him.
"What is it, Genki?" she asked, looking at him. He looked at his
hands for a moment.
"I thought I was going to lose you, after I finally got you out of the
water the other day," he told her quietly. "You were... so cold, so...
still... Your face was so... peaceful that I would have been sure you were
already gone, if I hadn't still been able to feel you. Even that was so
faint that I wasn't sure... you were still alive."
"Genki, I-" she started, but he shook his head before she could
finish.
"Please, just let me finish," he said, looking at her. After a
moment, she sighed, and nodded. "It's hard to describe how much that...
scared me, Pixie." He frowned. "I didn't realize... how much... just the
idea of loosing you would hurt, and..." Abruptly he sighed, shaking his
head again, and looked at her. "The morning before we fell down here, I
had a dream... about you. I said something to you in that dream, and... at
first, I thought that it was just part of the dream." Pixie felt her heart
come to a crashing halt as he paused, and swallowed. "But, when I saw you,
laying there... cold, and still... and looking so peaceful, I... realized
that it was very much the simple truth. I... I'm in love, with you,
Pixie, and... and I can't stand the idea of losing you again. I... never
understood that, until then." After a second, her heart restarted again,
and she realized that she was staring at him, and that her eyes were
starting to water.
"It was my dream," she murmured, after a long moment; Genki blinked at
her. "My dream, my...wish, and now..." She smiled at his confused
expression. "Genki... I'll explain some other time," she decided, as she
put her arms around him and hugged him tightly. "You can't know," she said
softly, into his ear, "how happy you've just made me, Genki." Of course,
he could feel it, just the same as she could feel his surprise through the
bond. Their bond. Slowly, she felt his arms going around her, and then he
was holding her as tightly as she held him. -I love you Genki. Now, and
always.- He pulled back slightly, and looked at her, smiling.
-Now, and always,- he repeated, before kissing her. She closed her
eyes, and let herself be swept off by it. A very long, long moment passed,
and then they slowly parted. He was quiet a second, and then smiled
slightly. "I just have one question."
"What?" she asked, looking at him.
"When are we going to take those fish off the fire, I think they're
about to start burning..." he told her, grinning. Pixie blinked, caught
off guard by the question, and then gasped as she remembered that those
were the last two that she had managed to catch. Standing, she quickly
sliced them both down, grinning weakly.
"I told you that I burned everything that I touched," she said. He
smiled at her.
"Haven't burned me yet," he told her. Pixie smiled just slightly.
"Give me time."
Tiger sighed, looking around as Holly called them to a stop. They'd
been searching for three days, slowly working their way up the volcano. It
had remained quiet after its initial outbursts, settling for a few more
rains of ash and the occasional deep-throated grumble. They hadn't had any
luck, though. "Three days, and the closest thing to a passage we could
find was a hole too small for even Tiger to squeeze through," said Suezo,
managing for once to sum things up quite well.
"I still say that I coulda made it," grumbled Megumi from his back.
She probably could have, too, but none of them had been willing to let her
try.
"It's too bad that Moochi isn't here," sighed Holly. "He would have
gotten through with no trouble." Tiger, Hare and Golem nodded in
agreement.
"Moochi?" asked Jay in curiosity.
"Genki unlocked him when he first arrived. He can roll up into a
pretty small ball; he'd have gotten in with room to spare," explained
Holly, smiling sadly. "The last we saw of him was when Nightstorm first
attacked."
"I am surprised that Master Pixie has not just flown up here yet, just
to let us know that they are safe," rumbled Big Blue in troubled tones.
Holly glanced at him.
"Maybe we just haven't seen her, and she hasn't seen us," she said,
smiling comfortingly. "We have been staying pretty much in the shaded
areas." Tiger noted dryly that she didn't seem to pay attention to the
fact that they had not one, but two golem in their group, and that Blue at
least stuck out like a sore thumb against the stone of the mountain.
"Or maybe her wings were damaged in the fall and she can't fly just
yet," added Hare. Tiger shook his head, and groaned inwardly. Of course
the furball would miss the idea of avoiding that thought for moral. It led
too easily to other possibilities.
"She probably just doesn't want to leave Genki alone," announced
Megumi, in her typical, slightly louder-than-needed way. "Even I could
tell they had the hots for each other." Tiger stumbled, and tried to twist
around to stare at her. In fact, everybody had stopped, and were looking
at her. She blinked, and looked around. "What, you didn't notice?"
"This kid has grown up way, way too fast," muttered Suezo. Hare
looked thoughtful for a moment.
"Pixie and Genki... Boy, can anybody imagine the kids those two would
have..." he wondered aloud.
"Flying, hyperactive, always in trouble and tempers faster than
lightning," said Holly, before starting and then blushing, clapping her
hands over her mouth. Tiger winced in spite of himself, already picturing
the two of them trying to lead that brood. Even Big Blue's usually
expressionless face was twitching toward a smile, and he never smiled. Jay
was smirking slightly, and Golem looked as though he was about to start
laughing. Sighing, Tiger shook his head.
"Kid, once we find Genki and Pixie, remind me to tell you a little
about tact," he said dryly. Megumi blinked at him.
"Huh?" she asked. He shook his head again.
"Never mind," he told her, before clearing his throat. "You know, the
way our luck usually goes, the only way to get down to the canyon is in the
Oracle's shrine," he said. Hare glanced at Tiger, and sighed.
"The sad part is, he's probably right," he said. "They must have some
way of leaving the shrine - how else could they enter their chamber without
being seen?" After a moment, he grinned, and added, "Oh well, I guess that
even Tiger has to be right now and then." Tiger gave him a baleful look.
"Alright," said Holly, forestalling the brewing argument. "We're
nearly there now, so how do we get in and past the Oracle?"
"They're just a bunch of stone statues. Knock them over and they
can't do anything to stop us," said Megumi.
"Those 'statues' could knock you flat as a pancake without breaking a
sweat, Megumi. They have very powerful telepathic abilities," said Holly,
shaking her head.
"What about those attacks Suezo was using against Genki? Those were
telepathic, weren't they?" suggested Jay suddenly. They started, as Suezo
blinked.
"Gee, I never thought of that... I could have just teleported us all
down there as soon as it happened!" he exclaimed, grinning weakly.
"Great time to remember that, Suezo!" growled Hare, frowning at him.
"You didn't think of it either, Hare," pointed out Tiger, smirking.
Hare glared at him, as Holly waved them off.
"It'd take too long to get back down there now," she said. "So, looks
like the shrine is our way through."
"I'll lure them away, and then circle back," said Tiger. "Genki is
the only one aside from me fast enough to dodge three Monol tossing psychic
blasts at once, and considering he isn't exactly around right now..." he
said, smirking slightly. Holly looked at him a moment, frowning, but
finally sighed and nodded.
"Right. Once we're inside, we'll find a way to mark the passage," she
said. Tiger nodded, and then lay down.
"Sorry kid. You can't come along on this ride," he said, as Megumi
got off.
"I know, I know. I'm too young," she muttered. Tiger glanced at
Holly, and then looked at her.
"Nope. I just want to make sure Holly has somebody to keep her clear
of Hare's schemes. Remember what I told you happened when Genki thought
Pixie was in trouble, and I went with him in case he needed a hand?" he
said. She grinned, nodding.
"Hare's plan led them right into a trap," she said. Hare frowned.
"Hey, that's a dirty trick Tiger, turning her against me with a couple
of stories," he complained. Tiger smirked at him.
"You're just angry you didn't think of it first furball," he said.
"Well yeah, but that's beside the point!" exclaimed Hare, before
grinning in defeat, and laughing along with the others.
"My leg is moving better now. It still feels a little bit stiff, but
I think I could run on it if I had to. I should be able to climb," said
Genki. Pixie glanced at him, and nodded, as she extended a wing. It was
nearly fully healed now, thanks to the bond.
"I could fly now, but by morning they'll be fully healed. I'll go up
and find Holly and the others, let them know we're alright, then come back
down to help you make the climb," she told him. "Until then, we might as
well stay here, get rested. It'll be a long climb for you." Genki grinned
at her dryly.
"I've been asleep for three days. If I get much more rest, I'll be
able to give Megumi a run for her money," he said, laughing. She smiled.
"You're pretty protective of her," she observed. He grinned a little.
"Yeah, well... Somewhere along the line after our dad died, I got the
idea stuck in my head that it was my job to take care of her and Mom," he s
aid quietly. "He passed away not long after she was born - killed in a
crash with a drunk driver." Genki shook his head. "She doesn't remember
him, but then, sometimes I have trouble remembering what he looked like
anymore." She looked at him.
"Hey, what was it you said to me about my village in the dream? 'It
will never be destroyed as long as you want to remember?' The same could
be said for you, you know. You'll never fully forget, as long as you want
to remember," she said quietly. He glanced at her a moment, and nodded,
smiling.
"Yeah." He paused a moment, and then looked at her again, this time
curiously. "Hey, what did you mean, when you said that it was your dream?"
he asked her. She smiled, blushing slightly.
"I guess that the easiest way to explain it is to say that it started
with me. I... never told you about that particular aspect of the bond.
You see, I usually shield my dreams - it's a skill we learn early, because
sometimes, if our dreams are about the one we're bonded to, they can be...
pulled into the dream, so to speak. It's a shared dream, but only the
pixie can initiate one," she said quietly. "So... while it was you, once
you were pulled in, and you did have a part in crafting it, it was my dream
that... started it." To her surprise, he started laughing. She looked at
him, frowning. "What?"
"Nothing, it's just... After I woke up, I was terrified of
embarrassing you by accidentally letting it slip through the bond. In
fact, I was pretty sure you already knew, because you were being so quiet.
You seemed... distant, you know?" he said, grinning slightly. She nodded,
as he lightly placed his arm around her waist. "Now it turns out I was
right - just not quite the way that I was expecting," he finished. She
nodded after a moment, smiling, and leaned back into his embrace. They
were quiet for a few moments, just enjoying each others company. "Knowing
what I know now, I wish I could have finished that dream," he said quietly.
Pixie blinked, and then blushed in spite of herself. Then, slowly, she
looked at him.
"I did finish... the dream," she replied softly. Genki started and
looked at her, blushing himself. For a long moment, they stared at each
other, Pixie aware of the warmth on her cheeks and the abrupt return of the
butterflies from earlier that day. Slowly, though, she asked him, "When...
exactly did... you wake up?"
"I... After the second time we kissed... Just before you said
something," he told her. She slowly nodded. For a second, she paused,
thinking about what she was about to do. But she had already come too far
to stop, and there was no denying the simple fact that she loved him... and
that right now, so close to him, she very, very badly wanted him.
"I told you that... I loved you, and then we kissed again," she told
him slowly, before suiting her actions to her words. She tipped her head
back slightly, and kissed him, gently at first, and then more insistently.
"What then?" he murmured softly, as they paused for a moment. She
looked at him.
"You started to... kiss my neck," she replied; he obligingly began to
kiss along her cheek bone, and slowly worked his way along to the side of
her neck. She felt an electric thrill go flying down her spine, and
flushed slightly. "I... began to pull off your shirt..." she continued,
running her hands down his sides, and gently starting to gather the lower
edges of the shirt together. He paused in kissing her neck as she raised
his shirt over his head, and then went back to slowly nuzzling her neck.
She shivered, already starting to feel a throbbing warmth beginning to
build within.
After a moment, she gently guided his hands around to her back, to
where her wings grew out. "Massage here, but gently," she whispered,
shivering again as his fingertips brushed the spot where her wings and back
became one. "Very... gently," she added. "That is... a very sensitive
spot." Genki obediently began to softly rub her back through the fur-like
material of her top, now and then lightly sliding his thumbs along the
magic line where skin became leathery wing, making her jump. Slowly, she
unhooked the medallion that had once named her one of Moo's commanders.
Then, after a moment, she tossed it into the fire, before unhooking the
tiny, nearly invisible clips that held her top together.
"Below... the spot where my wings join my back... there are three
small hooks under the material," she told him quietly. Genki nodded, and
found them, after a moment of light touches that sent electrical jolts down
her spine. Slowly, he undid them, and then Pixie rolled her shoulders back
a little. Without the clips at her throat and between her breasts to hold
the top on, it slipped back, and off of her. For a moment, they just
looked at each other, before closing the space between them again, kissing
passionately.
Genki's hands slid up between them, gently cupping and squeezing her
heavy, pear-shaped breasts. She could feel her nipples, already standing
out stiffly, begin to throb as he lightly flicked at them with his thumbs.
She moaned into his mouth softly, as the action sent jolts of pleasure
straight to the pit of her stomach, where a small ball of sensations was
slowly beginning to build. After a moment, Genki lowered his head, and
slowly kissed his way downward, while his thumbs moved in gentle circles
around her nipples.
He traced a line down the slope of her bosom with his kisses,
carefully avoiding the more sensitive areas that he was already driving
wild with his fingers. Pixie arched her back upward, pressing herself more
firmly into his touch, as she started to breath faster. Genki began to
gently squeeze and pinch her nipples. Then he lowered his mouth to her
breast, first lightly kissing the tip of her nipple, and then starting to
suckle on it gently. She gasped, closing her eyes and letting herself get
carried away by the gentle sensation, and so she didn't notice as his free
hand slid around to her back.
Pixie did notice, though, as he suddenly, lightly stroked his hand
along the hyper-sensitive skin there. With an abrupt, mind-shattering
explosion, she began to orgasm as hard as she ever had, every nerve in her
body starting to fire randomly at once. For a long moment, her entire
world was only white-hot ecstasy; she couldn't see, couldn't feel anything
save her sense of Genki through the bond, and she could scarcely breath.
The sheer force of it, and the suddenness of it simply caught her
completely off guard.
After a long minute, she finally began to come back down, body still
spasmically twitching now and then in the afterglow of the climax. Her
vision cleared after a second, and she saw Genki staring at her in
surprise, shaking his head slightly in disbelief. "I felt that," he said
after a moment, sounding a little out of breath. Pixie smiled, as her
hands slid to his belt.
"What did you expect?" she replied softly. "We are bonded... I feel
what you feel, and..."
"I feel what you do," he finished slowly, surprise coming through
their bond as he considered the new meaning of that. She grinned
alluringly, as he moved his own hands down and began to help her unhook his
belt. After that first, mind-blowing orgasm, she found that she was even
more interested in what was causing the rather sizable bulge in his pants.
After a few moments of fumbling about, he managed to get the buckle undone,
and then unbuttoned the jeans. Pixie smiled seductively, as she reached
out and slowly pulled the zipper down, until his underclothing was fully
revealed. Genki raised his seat off the ground for a moment, and slid his
pants off. She gently hooked a claw under the waistband of his underwear,
and tugged down.
Suddenly free of its confinement, his manhood sprang up, standing at a
proud seven inches, she guessed. The head was a swollen purple that was
already beginning to leak a small bead of pre-cum. She felt a sudden itch
start to form deep inside, but put it aside for the moment, as she leaned
forward, kissing him. Then she lowered her head to his lap, and gently
kissed the tip of his cock, her tongue flicking out to catch that first
drop, before taking his whole head in her mouth.
Genki groaned as she did; in the back of her mind, Pixie could feel
the reflection of the pleasure he felt from her actions, which only served
to fuel her desire for him. Pixie worked his manhood slowly, determined to
make it last, to enjoy it for as long as possible. Despite that
determination, she couldn't ignore the quickly growing throb that begged to
be attended to, and slipped her hand down to lightly rub herself through
her bottoms.
She sensed it just a second before it happened; the pleasure rolling
through the bond from Genki suddenly spiked, at the same time that she felt
him stiffen. Pixie barely had the time to pull back, letting him slip from
her mouth, before his essence exploded out, most of it splashing across her
breasts, a little bit hitting her cheek. Grinning slightly, she wiped it
away with a finger, and then carefully cleaned it off, savoring its
sweet-salty taste.
"Enough teasing," she said, after a moment, noting with delight that
Genki hadn't softened in the least. He smiled at her, as she hooked the
sides of her bottoms, and pulled them down, exposing her glistening sex.
She paused a moment, using her hand to guide him to her entrance, and then
looked at him. "It's... been awhile," she told him quietly, blushing
suddenly, "so please... start slow." Genki nodded, and she took a deep
breath, before letting herself sink down on him.
She felt her walls stretching to accommodate his manhood as he slid
into her, the first pulses of golden warmth and pleasure quickly beginning
to shoot through her. Slowly, bit by bit, he disappeared into her; she bit
her lip to keep from gasping in rapture. After what seemed an eternity,
they bottomed out, and just sat there a moment, savoring the feeling of him
completely buried within her. In a way, it was odd; she could feel herself
pressing down on him, and at the same time, she could feel that same
tightness, only from his sense. Odd, but incredibly stimulating.
Then Genki started to pull back out, and the waves of sensation
redoubled. She could feel the pleasure assailing her both from within, and
through the bond. They quickly settled into a rhythm that soon had them
both sweating and moaning loudly, as they raced one another to climax. She
felt hers coming on first, an orgasm that, while not as powerful as the
first one she'd had, still made her a little dizzy. She gasped, leaning
back as it crashed into her.
Before the first was even over, a second slammed into her, making her
eyes fly open in disbelief. She found herself starting to bounce on his
lap faster and harder, desperate to pull him over the edge with her, as a
third climax quickly began to build again. Then Genki slid his arms a bit
farther back, and began rubbing her wing joints again. Throwing her head
back, she screamed as it set off her hardest orgasm yet. At the same time,
she felt the same spike of pleasure in his sense that she'd felt before
Then suddenly she could feel him spraying his seed deep within her. With a
start, she fell forward somewhat, into his embrace, and began to kiss him
again.
They continued to reflexively move together for a few more moments,
until his now limp manhood slipped from her with a soft sucking sound.
Pixie pressed her forehead against his, smiling contentedly in the
afterglow of their love-making, and whispered, "I love you." Genki smiled
at her, hugging her closer to him.
"I know, Pixie."
