     *nods*  Yup.  He may be handsome, but he just whupped all of her
 underlings and nearly beat her, as well.  And duty seems to be her primary
 motivation for nearly everything, so I don't think that his looks and charm
 would have THAT much of an effect without some sort of interaction between
 the fight and now.

  On the other hand, Kiima is an experienced professional.  And if, in her 
professional opinion, Ranma's actions were congruent with his claims of being 
non-hostile and acting in self-defense, I suspect her innate honesty would 
compel her to give him the benefit of the doubt -- to a point.  After all, in 
a many-v-one fight, it's far easier to just start killing opponents rather 
than taking them down non-lethally.  So she has fairly strong evidence that 
Ranma prefers to accept the increased risk of adhering to non-lethal force 
(against opponents quite ready and willing to use lethal force against him) 
rather than use potentially lethal force.
  It *might* work better if, rather than "I believe him..." she said 
something like "He has given no sign of hostile intent..."  That would be 
more precise and objective, while still retaining most of the original thrust 
(IMHO).
