Hi hi. Meagen here. Here's a little fic I made up. All C&C appreciated. CC public ones to me since I'm in perpetual vacation mode.

The continuous misadventures of Jones Maggy
*********************************************************************
"Miss Jones."
"Maggy." she said flatly.
"I do not understand."
"Maggy. That's my last name. Jones is my first." She sighed.
"Nevermind. Just tell me the results."
"You have not been admitted."
"That's what I thought. Goodbye."
She walked along the road, dragging her feet slightly, her head
hung. Suddenly she stopped, as if she had made a decision. She turned
around and glared menacingly at the building she had just left.
"I'll show you yet!" she called. "Did you hear me? I'LL SHOW YOU!!!"
She turned around and ran forward. No one had heard her, but she
thought even the giant R-logo on the building was watching her with
ironic amusement.
'I'll show you', she thought again as she ran into the forest.
She was walking along the path slowly. Her anger had only burnt for
a short time. It always did. But now, the rage had solidified into
stone-hard determination. She was a loser, but she was a loser with
a goal. And she would go on to that goal.
She knew she would fail miserably. There was no other way. But she
would go on.
She was a loser, but a loser with pride.
Suddenly, her thoughts were interrupted by a shout.
"Prepare for trouble!"
Jones looked up, uninterested, at the two figures in familiar
uniforms.
"Make it double!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
She sighed and waited patiently.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
Jones yawned.
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth! That's right!" said the Pokemon.
"I surrender, if that's what you want." she said without interest.
The two people were surprised at first, but quickly hid it.
"Give us your pokemon!" said James.
"Don't have any."
"What?" asked Jessie.
"It ran away. Go and catch it if you want." Jones threw a Pokeball
in Jessie's general direction. It fell to the ground and popped open.
It was empty.
The two people were speechless. Jones shrugged and walked on past
them. Meowth jumped in from of her. "Hey! How 'bout monay? Hand over
your cash!"
"Don't have any of that either." Jones said. After a short pause she
added, "Hey, aren't Meowths supposed to have a kind of money making
attack?"
A sweatdrop appeared on the pokemon's head. It started to blabble
some sort of excuse, but Jones was in no mood to listen. She walked
past it and was on her way again, eyes downcast.
James took a long look after her. All he could say was, "Wow."
Later that day, a small shop in was a victim of attempted robbery.
"Stick 'em up." The figure was wearing what appeared to be a male
Team Rocket uniform, although it's voice sounded feminine. On the
intruder's face was a mask, which showed only two dark-green eyes.
A pistol was held up menacingly, and a huge brown bag slung over the
shoulder was obviously meant for the loot.
"Give me money and some rations. Not the junk you feed the pokemon,
mind you. Real human food. NOW!"
The customers shrank back as the shopkeeper hastily fumbled for
the desired items. 'It's working, it's working... now if it just
keeps that way, just a little longer, maybe I could just once, this
one time, manage to...'
"Hey!" called one of the people out of her sight. "That thing's
plastic!" he pointed an accusing finger at the weapon.
Jones jumped back in surprise and hit a small counter, causing
several items to clatter to the ground. Angry shouts of "It's just a
toy!" "Let's get her!" echoed around.
She aimed at the person closest to her and pulled the trigger. The
gust of water hit the man straight in the face. His cry of pain
caused everyone to stop in their tracks.
It was only a few seconds before they started the pursuit again, but
it was enough for her. She dashed out of town and into the woods,
where she ducked into a large bush near the road.
She only dared to breathe louder when she was sure they had
abandoned their chase.
Jones sighed. Nuts and berries tonight again, it seemed. And she
was so close. Oh well. She could always try the next town and fail
miserably there as well. She threw the water pistol back into her
bag.
It clattered against something.
She took a look at the bag. What could be in it that would emit
such a sound? 'Let's see. Clothes, blanket, towel... Nope. What could
it be?'
She looked inside. On the very top the water pistol was lying next
to a small, flat, black box.
'How did that get in there?'
Suddenly, she remembered the counter she had slammed into. There
were a lot of things on it, and some had then fallen. The box must
have somehow landed in her bag. That was the most logical
explanation, anyway.
She took it out. It was made of black plastic, and had no markings
on it. A small, rectangular button was on one of the sides. When
Jones pressed it, the device opened revealing a display screen and
several buttons.
After fiddling with the small computer for a few hours, she found
it had limited capabilities. Actually, it was just a database, and
the interface was rather old, too. It didn't even play sound.
However, the information it contained was more than worth it.
As she was setting up camp for the night, Jones tried to figure the
shortest way to Blackwind Vale. If the database was correct, she was
on to something so big that if Team Rocker's boss knew half of it,
he'd come to her begging to join up.
But she had to make sure first. Then she would decide what to do.
The possibilities were endless.
