I heard this somewhere and I think it's pretty catchy.

You're close.  The actual line, I believe, is, "This is my rifle, this is
my gun.  One is for fighting, one is for fun."  By the way, this is from
the scene in Full Metal Jacket in which a group of marines-in-training are
marching around holding their rifles in one hand and their...guns, so
to speak...in the other.

It might have been in Full Metal Jacket, but it's hardly original there.
It is, in fact, an old boot-camp bit used by drill sergeants to pound into
the recruits' heads not to call their rifle a "gun".  Another one, used
when the recruit has just used the offending word, is: "Awright, [name
here], howcum every other private in this army's got a *rifle* and you've
got a *gun*?"
