I quite agree here. Also, this story doesn't FEEL like it takes place in the
2080's. Not one person, not one location, not one incident would have been
out of place in our time. If you insist on leaving it in the future, at
least leave hints that this isn't 20th century Tokyo.
Otherwise, set the story no more than 15 years ahead.
