DESTROYERS
A Slayers spamfic, by Ronny Hedin (thark@mangakai.org)

"DRAGON SLAVE!"

Even as the immensive destructive power of the spell ripped his body to
itty-bitty pieces, the demon cried out in rage. "Curse... you... Lina...
Inverse..."

And then it was over. The young red-haired magician clapped brushed her
hands against each other satisfiedly. "Well, that's that. One less evil
to menace the world. Honestly, I wonder where all these guys have been
coming from lately."

Gourry put his sword back in its sheat. "But did you really *have* to use
the Dragon Slave? Sure, he was dangerous, but not *that* dangerous compared
to some of the stuff we've faced."

Lina shrugged. "I just figured I'd take care of him as quickly as possibly.
The bastard showed up just as we were about to go eat, if you recall."

The swordsman nodded. "Yeah, but... Now that your spell has turned the
city into ruins, where are we going to buy dinner?"

The pleased look immediately disappeared from Lina's face. "Damn. Why
didn't I think of that?"

Far away, in a dark room, a man - if man he was - hid beneath a flowering
rob adressed his underling on the other side of the table. Said underling
would have been highly surprised had he been able to seen the smile on
his masters face, currently cloaked under the shadows of a wide hood.

"It appears we have failed again, Master," the underling said. "Far be
it from me to criticize your genial plans, but would it not be wiser if
we gathered enough energy to summon a more powerful minions? Even had
it not been for the interference of that accursed Lina Inverse, these
relatively puny demons would never be able to destroy the world." He
grumbled to himself, wondering how it might be that the thrice-damned
sorceress somehow always managed to be at the right place in the right
time to stop them.

The master gestured, and the crystal ball before him summoned up the
image of the city in ruins, the remaints still smoking, with fires
blazing here and there. It was, indeed, no less than the picture of
an inferno. He pulled back the hood, exposing a gnarled visage, dry
leather-like skin tight against deformed bones. A wide, evil smile
formed on his lips. "No, no, no. Everything is going *quite* according
to plans."
