First off, I would like to thank the people who have read and
enjoyed Crimson Dawn. Your kind words and praise have meant a great deal to
me, and I appreciate every bit of it.

Secondly, I would like to thank Gary Kleppe for his help and
insight. Gary pre-read the first two or three chapters, and also lent his
talents for the last. Also, I would like to thank Allyn Yonge for agreeing
to give chapter nine a once-over as well. Unfortunately, he suffered a major
computer SNAFU, and I could not wait for him. I do appreciate his
willingness to help. Allyn, I would still love to hear any thoughts you may
have on Crimson Dawn. ^_^

Crimson Dawn originally started off as a crossover idea I had
between Ranma and the TV series "Brimstone". For those who never heard of
it, NYPD Detective Ezekiel Stone murdered the man responsible for raping his
wife and had been sent to Hell for it. 113 souls managed to escape from
there, and the Devil cut Stone a deal that if he were able to retrieve all
113 souls, he'd get a second shot at life on earth. The show didn't last all
that long, and neither did the fanfic, only a teaser being released on it.
From there, Allyn Yonge sent me a few ideas on how to improve the
fic. I adopted one of them, dredged up an old X-Men comic, and came up with
Crimson Dawn. The Crimson Dawn was used in the X-Men story, "Warriors of the
Ebon Night", of which I've only read the first installment. Another FFML'er
(his name escapes me) told me how the Crimson Dawn affected Psylocke, and I
adopted that as well. As for Allyn's idea, he suggested a tengu trixter
getting Ranma swept up in some plot (I can't remember, having lost the
message in my own computer SNAFU), and using him to meet the Tengu's own
ends. Yes, the Old Man originaly started off as a tengu! ^_^ This explains
the feathers he used to immobilize Ranma in the second chapter.
From there, it kinda took off on its own, shaping into something I
never imagined. I never intended for Crimson Dawn to go on as long as it
did, nor for the last chapter to stretch over four parts! But, now that it's
finally finished, I'm glad it turned out the way it did and that so many
people seem to have enjoyed it.

Well, that about wraps this up. Again, I want to thank everyone who
was involved in C&Cing this work. I could not have done this without you.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!! ^_^

        Much love,

Jedediah Mason Bidwell
