Chapter Three:Buffing up with Ranma Saotome Workout tape!Not available in Stores!-or-Kaoru and the 6th child...an item?
Ryoga looked at the pie and drooled."That looks good."He said.Judging by her superb chicken stirfry,it probably was good.
"Would you like a piece?"Ryuko asked,smiling cheerfully(excercising those face muscles,isn't she?)
Ryoga nodded vigorously(woo,the dizzying pain of shaking your head too much!Oh the horror!Mokona thinks so too,don't you mokona?(Mokona:Puu!Pupupupupu!(Me:See!Told ya so!)
Ryuko cut a piece of the pie and gave it to Ryoga.He ate it up rather quickly.It was very filling.He got up out of his seat and smiled at Ryuko.
"Thanks,that tasted really great!But I'd better be going!"Ryoga said.::If I wanna get back to Nerima by next week,I'd better get going.::
"Take some pie then!Please!And some chicken stirfry!"Ryuko said anxiously.
"Alright,ya talked me into it!"::Something better to eat than my own cooking!Yay!::Ryuko put some stirfry into a container and wrapped the pie in tinfoil and slipped them into Ryoga's pack.
Ryuko was just about to open the door for Ryoga when it opened by itself.In walked Shinji,looking quite pale and overworked,but with a big smile on his face.
"Oh,hi Ryu-chan,you're looking very beautiful today,as usual."He said happily,walking back to his room.Ryuko noticed he was carrying a large and rather heavy looking shopping bag in his hands.
"Eruh,Hi,Shinji-kun."Ryuko said rather bewildered,but very pleased with the compliment.
"Does your friend work out?He doesn't look like it."Ryoga asked.
"No.He's never said anything about it,if he does."Ryuko replied.
"Oh,Ranma must've started training him.He has a knack for doing that."Ryoga said.
"Oh,okay."Ryuko looked at Shinji's door,laughing inwardly at the sign on the door.::Shinji's lovely suite,I'll never get over that.It's just too funny!::
"Well,Sayonara,Ryuko,thanks for the food!"Ryoga waved bye and headed out the door.
"Ja ne,Ryoga.Anytime."Ryuko waved back.
Ryoga wandered around amelessly.He'd only left Ryuko's apartment an hour ago,and already he was on some boat to who knows where.::Why do these things always happen to me,kami?::Ryoga thought.
He was suprised when kami answered him."Everything has a purpose in life,remember that Ryoga."Kami said.Ryoga stumbled and fell.
"I'll try,and,thanks for answering me!"Ryoga shouted to the sky.
"You're welcome Ryoga."
Ryoga sat down and fell asleep.
Ryuko had her ear to the doorway.::He's definitely working out in there.::She was suddenly suprised when the door opened.She fell over,there toppling Shinji over.
Shinji had just opened the door,and suddenly found himself on the floor,with face in between Ryuko's ample breasts.
"Ugh,Shinji-kun?Could you please get off me,you're getting blood all over my shirt."Ryuko said calmly.
Shinji gasped and tried to get up.Ryuko helped him up,and pinched his nose with her fingers.
"Got something to hold your nose with?"Ryuko asked.
"Yes."Shinji said in a squeaky voice,pulling out a tissue.
Ryuko released her hold on his nose and he quickly plugged it up.
"Where are you going?"Ryuko asked,noticing a card in his hand.
"To work."Shinji said,his face red and his tissue even redder."Misato should have been able to convince my father to let you work there."
"Oh,okay Shinji-kun."Ryuko smiled and walked off to her room to change.
Shinji walked towards the NERV entrance.He slipped his card through the login machine.The door slid open."Welcome,Shinji Ikari."A conveyer belt took him right to his father's office.He walked inside,and found Ritsuko,his father,and Misato all in a deep discussion.
"Ikari Shinji reporting in."Shinji said.
Gendo,Misato,and Ritsuko all looked at the boy.
"From what Misato has told us,this girl fits the exact description of the 6th child.We want you to bring her here in one week."Gendo said in a voice of coldness and high authority.
"Hai,sir."Shinji replied."Thanks Misato."
"Anything for you,Shinji-kun.By the way,why are you holding a tissue to your nose?"
"I'd rather not talk about it."
"I think I can guess."
"You probably can Misato."
With that,he walked out of the room.The conveyer belt took him back out of NERV and he began to walk home.
Somewhere in the Nerima district,an unfortunate Ranma was getting pounded into the dirt with many mallets by two angry women for getting his nice chinese shirt wrinkled.
Ryoga woke up and looked through a porthole.He spotted familiar land."Looks like we're not in Japan anymore,Toto."Ryoga said absently.
A little black dog came up to him."Bark!Woof!"
Ryoga,seeing the boat had landed,jumped out the porthole and touched down on sandy land."Thanks Bluebeard!"
"Aye Ryoga,me matey,any time!"A pirate with a long blue beard and an aweful smile waved at the retreating figure.
Ryoga wandered around the thick jungle he was in for some time.He finally came out.What he saw made his heart cry out for joy.
"JUSENKYO!!!!!!!!!!"He ran towards the many springs.He saw the tour guide.
"Hey!You!Get over here!"Ryoga shouted.The guide ran over to Ryoga.
"Yes sir,how can I help you?"The tour guide said.
"Which one of these is the spring of the drowned man?!"Ryoga demanded.The guide led him over to the spring of the drowned man.
"Oh,this very sad story-"
"Skip it man!"Ryoga growled at the tour guide.A light suddenly came down on the spring behind him.
"Jump in that spring with the sunlight shining down on it,Ryoga."Kami said.
"No way Kami!Not this time!"Ryoga shouted towards the heavens.
"Alright,since you refuse,MOKONA!"Mokona suddenly hopped in front of Ryoga.
And with that,great fortune smiled on Ryoga Hibiki that day,in the form of a Mokona.
"Puu!"A beam flew out of the jewel on mokona's forehead and knocked Ryoga into the spring behind him.
"Thank you Mokona,now my story can go on as planned(and oh how deviously I planned it,too.)"Kami said down to the mokona.
"Pu!Pupupu."Mokona hopped off into the jungle.
Ryoga came out of the spring in a position he was very used to.::something feels VERY wrong here.::he looked at where his hands were supposed to be.Then behind him.
"YEOWWRR!!!!!"He screeched.
"Oh,very misfortunate.you fell into spring of drowned cat.Very sad story-but I suppose you wish to be changed back."The tour guide said.
"Mew."Ryoga said pitifully.
"Follow me."
Ryoga followed the tour guide into a cabin.The tour guide boiled some water.
While Ryoga was waiting,Kami's words and Ryuko's words suddenly came back to him.'All things have a purpose in life...' 'Oh!I just love cats!...'
::THANKS KAMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!::Ryoga shouted in his mind.
"You're welcome Ryoga."Kami replied.
This suprised the tour guide,who almost dropped the pot of hot water.He poured it on the little black cat with the yellow and black bandanna on it's forehead,that instantly turned into Ryoga.
Ryoga walked out,smiling,thinking about all that he could do with his new form.::I guess I'll just use the same plan with Ryuko that I used with Akane.Yeah,time to play 'Ryuko's adorable pet cat'::
"Which way's Japan,though?"He wondered.
Out of no where,Mousse appeared.
"Hey Mousse!will you take me back to Japan?"
"Why should I,Hibiki?"
"If you do,I'll fix you up on a date with Shampoo!"
"WHY'RE YA JUST STANDIN AROUND LIKE THAT,HIBIKI?DONTCHA WANNA GET BACK TO JAPAN?"Mousse grabbed Ryoga and flew out of the jungle like lightning.
Back in Shinji's apartment,Shinji was taking a good long nap,that'd probably last until the day after tomorrow.He'd eaten a piece of Ryuko's pie first and had had no room for anything else,strangely.Ranma had told him not to overdo his training and to always give his muscles at least a day to reheal from being torn.'tearing and healing is all what builds muscles!' he remembered his new friend saying.
Shinji dreamed about,well,what boys his age usually dream about when a cute girl is sleeping in the next room and they know it.*Ok,perverted,yes,I know!It's pretty hard,for NORMAL talented girls.Ah,but I am a talented girl raised by a sick sister and three brothers!Nothing is impossible!See!I can fly too!"The writer flaps her arms frantically,trying to lift herself off the ground.Mokona starts trying to tear up her papers."MOKONA!HOW MANY TIMES MUST I TELL YOU!NEVER TOUCH MY BRILLIANT WORK!"The writer chases after Mokona with a mallet,shouting something incoherant.*
Ryuko sat in bed,staring at her wall.::Shinji's trying to get muscular.Strange.He seems so determined.He called me beautiful,and said that I usually was...::Ryuko had no idea she was blushing while she thought of this.She had some idea that she was smiling,though.She soon drifted to sleep.
*The writer shall now skip to the next week,since Mokona tore up all the papers in between.*
Ryuko and Shinji arrived at school.
"Today's the day I introduce you to Kaoru."Shinji said jealously.His muscles had started developing now."Might as well get it over with right now."Shinji kept looking at Ryuko.::She looks more beautiful than ever today.I can hardly take my eyes off her!She knew today is the day that she finally gets to meet Kaoru.God damn it all!This'll only make it all harder for me!::Shinji continued to cuss under his breath until he saw Kaoru at the claw machine upstairs.::Hopefully Kaoru's angel side'll get in the way and he'll reject her.::This thought cheered Shinji up.
"Hey Kaoru!"Shinji shouted at the red eyed boy,a tint of hope in his voice.
"Hey Shinji!"Kaoru called back.Shinji and Ryuko walked over to Kaoru.
"Kaoru,I'd like you to meet my friend."Shinji said.
Kaoru looked at the girl once and only once.Mainly because he couldn't STOP looking.
"Ah,you must've fallen from heaven,for no mere girl is so beautiful,so whimsical,so graceful!I,if milady wishes,am Kaoru Nagisa."Kaoru said.::I'm glad I watched all those old human films.The human males always sweep the human females off their feet.But,there really is something to this girl.She makes a human emotion arise in me.And I detect something very familiar about her.::
At once,all of the hope that Ryuko'd ever be his girlfriend flew out of him.::GOD DAMN IT NAGISA!Oh no,now I know how Ryoga feels,or felt,before he met Ryuko.::This caused Shinji to get even more depressed.And more angry.
Ryuko blushed."My name is Ryuko Aino.I am very pleased to meet you,Kaoru-kun."Ryuko smiled.::His eyes,something familiar,that shade of red...::
Kaoru took her hand and kissed it.Ryuko's blush spread across the bridge of her nose.
"What a heavenly name kami blessed you with,Ryuko-hime."Kaoru looked up at her.
"You can call me Ryu-chan,if you want."Ryuko said,her eyes downcast.
"So I shall,Ryu-chan.Would you like to come with me to a fair after school today?*"Hmm,isn't THAT conveniently planned?!!"the writer murmurs to her self and laughs deviously(Mokona:Pu!!(Me:"MOKONA!I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU YOU WERE NOT TO SET FOOT IN MY STUDY!"*
Shinji,once again,stood pitifully by as Ryuko and Kaoru walked off,talking about philosophy.
A plan developed in Shinji's mind.::I know!I shall mercilessly hit on Asuka whenever Ryuko's around!::"AHAHAHAHAHA!HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!"Shinji laughed evilly.Suddenly mokona bounced in behind him.
"Pu!"
"Haaa..."
"Pu!"
"aaaa...."Shinji turned around."Wha-What are you?!!!"
Ryoga sat patiently in front of Kuro Neko Apartments.Everyone who passed him thought it was some cute little mascot for the apartment building.
::This is working out very well,so far!It was really nice of Mousse to drop me off here.::
At lunchtime,Shinji,Asuka,Kaoru,and Ryuko walked around talking.Rei had decided to sit by herself under a tree.Ryuko thought this was a bummer,while everyone else took it as if it happened all the time.
"Hey,Asuka,you look really kawaii today!"Shinji commented.*The writer walks into a closet for a second to let off a few"grr grrs" of jealousy.*
Asuka was taken aback."I-I do,Shinji?"Asuka asked.::Why am I reacting this way?!!!!!Ugh!Now I'm giving in to Bakaboy!What next?!!Will I start watching endless reruns of that American baby show,Blue's Clues?::Both Asuka and the writer shudder at the thought simultaneously,and the writer feels the urge to hurl just imagining it.
A blue dog ran by followed by a guy in a tacky green shirt."Blue skidoo,you can too!"
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!GET THEM AWAY FROM ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"Asuka and the writer and Ryuko screamed at the same time.
Shinji walked to the guy in the green shirt."Look,Scott,or whatever your name is,you're in the wrong cartoon,and you're scaring the good people in this one,SO GO BACK TO AMERICA YOU COCK SUCKING BASTARD!"*The writer momentarily wonders if that comment was too vulger.She puts it out of her mind and says to herself that Shinji-kun can do whatever he damn well pleases in her fanfiction.*
Shinji went back to mercilessly hitting on Asuka."And you know what,i have this sudden urge to*the writer allows mokona to tear this part up,for fear that she might try to kill Asuka* you like crazy."Shinji said calmly,giving Asuka a smile better than james bond could ever pull off.*The writer promptly sighs and melts into a puddle just imagining this.She suddenly notices her ice cream has also melted."Aw man,tha poor lil peanutbutter cup flavored ice cream go bai bai!"The writer starts crying,until she notices mokona lapping up the melted ice cream like a cat."Mokona!Dat was my ice cream!Get your own!"*
Ryuko suddenly felt like someone had stabbed her a million times in the heart with a broadsword,and then wondered why.
"Oh Shinji,you always know just the right thing to say to a girl!"Asuka said,while blushing.*more grrs from the writer and a few from Ryuko too.*
Asuka leapt onto Shinji and started kissing him.*Writer puts warpaint on herself and mokona.She then puts on a native american head dress."Ugh,must scalp palefaced german b#tch with the red hair."Mokona waves a small hatchet around and shouts out some war pu's.*
Shinji looked at Asuka in suprise.::Oh damn,my ingenous plan has gone too far!::He suddenly noticed the raging red in Ryuko's eyes and started acting like he was enjoying Asuka smothering him with kisses.
Kaoru had been talking about the meaning of life at this moment.He looked over to Ryuko."Och,damn!Her eyes!She's an angel!"Kaoru said out loud.::I can sense a pattern blue also!!!!!!::
Hearing this Ryuko's eyes instantly turned back to blue."Huh?Whaddya mean by angel?"Ryuko asked him.
Shinji immediately got up,knocking Asuka off him,who was almost about to take off her school uniform.*"Bitch"the writer mutters over and over again,sitting in indian style position,still wearing the warpaint and headdress.*
Ryuko looked at both boys with frightened glowing blue eyes as they glared back at her.She immediately and suddenly dropped to the floor and curled into a ball sobbing,crying and muttering incoherantly.
Kensuke,seeing this,ran over."Oh crap guys,what'd ya do to her?!!!"They just looked back and forth between kensuke and the huddled and almost insane form of Ryuko.
"Her eyes....they were like ayanami's and kaoru's....we assumed she was an angel.....but I don't even think she knows what one is....and then.....I guess we had scared her...."Shinji mumbled.
Kensuke was busy trying to calm down the now hysterical Ryuko.
"C'mon Ryuko,it's okay,no one's trying to hurt you."Kensuke finally coaxed Ryuko into uncurling herself,and was now helping her over to the infirmary.::What have I done?I was doing something low,and so very underhanded.I was trying to take revenge on Ryuko simply because she liked Kaoru.And in the process I almost made her insane!I'm such a terrible person...how could I do that?!::Shinji kept thinking all the time to himself.
"Shinji,Shinji,Shinji!!!!!Are you alive?Talk to me!"Kaoru had been trying to get in contact with Shinji for 5 minutes now.
"Uh oh,Kensuke is walking this way with the principal,Ms Hinako!"Kaoru exclaimed.This immediately snapped Shinji out of his self-hate trance.
"Uh,konnichiwa Hinako-san,fine day isn't it?"Shinji stammered.
Hinako-san grabbed both Kaoru and Shinji by the ears and dragged them off.
Inside the school,Hinako-san stopped at the door of the infirmary."Look what you've done!!!That girl is in mental shock!She's practically gone autistic!a tiny breeze and she could just shut herself down mentally!!!!!"
Dr. Tofu was examining her."Ryuko,can you hear me?"He asked her.No response.*Writer is beginning to hate herself."Where did I come up with this idea?!!I'd love it if this happened to Asuka,but not to my own special character I made up especially for NGE!"the writer goes inside herself for mental guidance on the situation.*
"Is she going to be okay?"Shinji asked.
"I don't know,maybe if I knew exactly what happened to her right before she went into this incoherant,hysterical state,then maybe I could help her out of it.
Shinji was explaining what had happened,when he was interrupted.
"Mommy!Mommy!Don't leave me!How can you do this to me?!Why is daddy just LETTING you!!!!No!No!Don't die!You're the only one I have left,Minako-sensei!NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"Ryuko screamed.Her eyes flew open,and they had no pupils.There was silence for a few moments."How can you just kill all these people?It was such a happy time!You're just an ornary snake.No!Don't involve him in this!AHHHH!!!!!!!!!Very well,I would have been the only one to survive,but for you,my love,I shall die."A crescent moon symbol appeared on her forehead,that went unnoticed by everyone in the room for they were all in deep discussion about everything she had said.She then went completely silent,as if the grey eyed goddess Athene had allowed her rest.The moon symbol disappeared.Everyone in the room turned to her.
"Ryu-chan,are you alright?"Shinji asked her.
"Huh?Oh,it's just Shinji.Hello Shinji-kun.I'm sorry about earlier,I was just so suprised.Don't blame it on yourself."Ryuko smiled warmly,as if nothing had happened.She grasped Shinji's hand reassuringly.
"I'm glad you're alright now,Ryu-chan."Kaoru said.
Ryuko looked at Kaoru and smiled again.She got up off of the infirmary bed,and enveloped Shinji and Kaoru in a warm embrace.She sighed.::I want to cry,but I can't.I never was able to cry,not even when....::
"Let's go back outside."Ryuko said.Kaoru and Shinji nodded and walked out,Ryuko walked behind them,thinking.
Toji walked through the gates.Everyone stopped what they were doing to gape.He had gotten all of his teeth either replaced or fixed,but he was visibly stronger now.
"Where's Shinji?And that new girl?!!!!"They all pointed towards the entrance of the school.Kaoru,Kensuke,Shinji,and Ryuko were all chatting together.
"KENSUKE YOU TRAITOR!How can you hang out with THEM after what SHE did to me?!!!!!"Toji yelled.Kensuke made a move to run and hide,but Ryuko stopped him.
"It's okay Kensuke-kun,I won't let him hurt any of my friends,and I consider you my friend."Ryuko said and smiled.This immediately calmed Kensuke down.
"Haha,gonna fight me again huh?Well,this time I've improved."Toji flexed his newfound muscles.
"You're such a lowly little wormy sick pervert,ya know that?!"
"I know it babe,but now I'm a STRONG lowly little wormy sick pervert.And thickheaded too.You're gonna be hurtin so bad after I'm done with ya that you probably'll be paralyzed!"Toji laughed.*writer grrs in her hatred for Toji,and punches the air.*
"You get them Toji!Shinji was playin me for a fool!"Asuka walked up to Toji,ranting and raving about it all.
"Kensuke,you show that leadhead what for!"Hikari said,walking up to Kensuke.*"Aha,my devious plan goes as planned once again,by mixing up all the couples!AHAHA!AHAHA!AHAHAHAHA!"(Mokona:"Pu!"(The writer:"MOKONA!GERROUT OF HERE!I WAS JUST DOING MY DEMENTED LAUGH!"*
Ryuko stepped a few paces forward,motioning her hands like she had guns and she was ready to draw them.Toji also stepped up a couple of times,and did the same hand motions.They did so until their noses were almost touching.They glared at eachother.Then,quicker'n lightning she grabbed his nose and put her mouth to his.*"By the way,this is the same technique Asuka used on Shinji.The sweet feeling of suffocating a bully!"*
After about 2 minutes,Toji went unconcious,and Ryuko threw him to the ground by his nose.
"You may be the champion fighter of your school,Toji,but I'M the champion of the streets of all of Crystal Tokyo."She spat on him and walked away.
Kensuke,Kaoru,Shinji,And Hikari all ran to catch up with her.
"That was so cool Ryuko!Just being able to hold Toji in your grip by the nose for that long!"Kensuke exclaimed.
"Actually,he liked it and tried to TOUCH me!"Ryuko spat on the ground once agin,imagining Toji in the spot she spat.*"Hey,I like that phrase."*
"Well,I'm glad that he didn't manage to."Kaoru said,keeping this new emotion,anger,within.
"Yeah,Ryu-chan,I would've beaten him up double if he'd done that!"Shinji said,NOT keeping his anger within.
"Boys."Hikari mumbled.
After school,Ryuko and Kaoru walked off towards the fair.Shinji was trailing behind a little.
::I can't believe they both asked me to come along!Do I look that pitiful when Ryuko seems to completely forget me?I only accepted because I wanted to make sure Kaoru didn't take his new emotions too far.Ryuko's really nice to guys that like her,especially if she likes them back.::Shinji stopped.::Likes them back?!!Maybe I do have a chance after all!::Shinji smiled and merrily caught up until he was only about 2 steps behind Ryuko and Kaoru.
::This reminds me of that American commercial where that whole girls soccer team does everything together,even go out on dates.::Ryuko thought.
*The writer takes the chance to murmur her favorite quote.The writer stands up and looks at mokona,who's hanging from the ceiling by his ears,bound and gagged,and she says."I will get two fillings."*
"Well,we're here."Kaoru said.
"Yeah,we are."Ryuko confirmed.No one really seemed enthusiastic about the fair any more.
"Oh krap!Ryuko,Kaoru!I forgot!Father wants me to bring Ryuko by today to see if she's 'the one' he's been looking for!"Shinji exclaimed,in a panic.
Only 3 minuutes later they arrived at the nerv login.shinji passed his card through,the door opened,and they all rushed through.Ryuko had expected no less than what she saw,which suprised Shinji.
"This is where Kaoru and I work,Ryuko."Shinji said,thinking that it might've just not registered in her mind yet.
"Hmm,with all the secrecy,you'd think they'd at least do something to make the inside look cooler."A hot wind came up up from the sides of the conveyer belt and blew her skirt up."I should learn to hold my tongue."She pushed her skirt back down and looked behind her.Her two male friends were gaping,their tongues out,drooling,with serious nose bleeds.Ryuko shook her head."Boys will be boys."She commented.She handed them both tissues.
They arrived at Gendo's office a minute from then.As before,Misato and Ritsuko were inside discussing something with Gendo.
"Hmm,let me guess,"Misato said,looking at Ryuko,who was holding on firmly to the ends of her skirt,and Shinji and Kaoru,who had tissues to their noses and were smiling.All three were blushing."Hot vengeful winds from under the conveyer belt of judgement.Am I right?"
All three children nodded,Shinji and Kaoru's smiles growing wider and noses bleeding more as they remembered,Ryuko's face turning redder.
Ritsuko decided to change the subject.It looked like the two boys were going to pass out from blood loss."So,you're Ryuko?"She asked.
"Hai,ma'am."The girl replied,the red color fading from her face.
"My name is Ritsuko Akagi,You can call me Dr. Akagi,and later on,if we're friends,you can call me Ritsuko."Ritsuko stated plainly.
"This is Captain Misato Katsuragi,"She gestured to Misato,"And Supreme Commander Gendo Ikari."Ryuko glared for a very long time at Gendo.::He looks kinda like Shinji.Boy I'd like to rip those glasses of his face and stomp on them.::
"Nice to see you again,Captain Katsuragi."Ryuko said and curtsied.::Yet again with the curtsying!And why do I have to call Misato-san Captain Katsuragi?!::
::She pointedly ignored me.::*mokona runs off to the next chapter holding a bunch of pages."MOKONA!COME BACK HERE!"*
