Sigh, this fic is nowhere as good as I thought it would be. The C&C I
got really shows. Two shots of C&C, both on chapter1. Maybe I shouldn't
have tried this fic, but it gave me enough time to invent my next story.
I might not post it, but I HOPE this new fic I'm working on will be my
greatest work since the Seven Sins and Virtues. Hope you send C&C on
this or my next fic.
Well on with the show. I think the story will end on Chapter 7, no
long, is it? *_* Enjoy!

                                         Chapter 4: Enemies

In the deepness of space, on the Mars Federation border there was a
battle. The Earth Government with fifty Lancer class war ships fighting
over eighty of The Federations Apollo class ships. Basically, the Mars
Federation was losing the battle.
A Lancer class ship, a large, leak, lance shaped ship with enough
weapons to level continents in minutes. While an Apollo class ship was a
small, triangular ship armed with thirty year old weapons and out dated
technology.
The Lancer ships were suffering only minor losses against the Apollo
class ships that were weaker then an Earth Government fighter. The war,
for the past two weeks, had gone much like this. Except that the
Republic had taken Mars side and fought with vastly greater force. But
Earth Government was far more powerful, then both Mars and the Republic
put together.
The small Apollo class ships dodged over a dozen shots from the
enemy ships. But when they regrouped to go in for a strike they were
mowed down by the Lancer's fire. Ten Apollo ships went down in flames
and exploded, sending three hundred and ten men and women to their
graves.
Finally the Federation ships got together and focused all their
firepower on one ship. The convergence of about seventy ships onto one
ships created the desired result. One Lancer ship was no more, leaving
little wreckage behind.
But that attack left the Federation ships defenseless for just a few
seconds, letting the Lancers get the upper hand. In another barrage of
fire, over half the Federation ships were destroyed as blue beams of
energy sliced through their hulls, ripping them to shreds. Explosions
soon followed, adding to the destruction.
That's when the Federation ships fell into anarchy. The ones that
tried to escape they were mowed down. The ones that stayed and fought
met a similar fate.
That was but a minor skirmish compared to some of the other battles.
Usually they ended up like this one though. The Mars or Republic ships
defeated with no real effort. The war, was going well for Earth
Government.........
I sat at the desk next to my bed and sighed. This war was more paper
work then battles, at least on this side.
My eye's tried to focus on the screen in the very dim light. I typed
on the keyboard and a beeping sound started. After a few seconds a man
appeared on the computer screen. He was Alex Manner, leader of the
military department of Earth Government. "Colonel. How goes the war?"
"Excellent sir. Over five hundred enemy ships destroyed, while we
have suffered only a loss of about seventy ships. If you ask me, this,
Black Fleet that you talk about is part of another government. Our
enemies weapons are decades behind ours."
I shook my head. "No, it's the classic tactic of war. First you send
out the small weapons. Then when their gone you send out the medium
sized weapons. And finally, when you run out of all those weapons, you
use the large weapons."
"But, the enemy would not waste so many people and resources. I
think someone different is behind it, truly I do."
Frowning I shook my head yet again. "There trying to rally support.
There weak ships against are strong ones, will make us look like bullies
who want domination over everything. If we stop now, then it's like an
admission of guilt on our part. When they surrender we'll find the
ships, use the technology and leave the Federation and the Republic. It
will be an act of mercy on our part. Public opinion of me will soar, and
the threat will be gone. Well anyway's, I have to go. Good day."
"Good bye President." And his image vanished of the screen, leaving
it a blank black.
I quickly turned it off and spun around and pulled out my pule gun.
A small, silver, hand held weapon. I fired three shots into the shadows
and heard a slight gasp for air.
I watched as a figure walked out of the shadows. He was short,
dressed all in black. His eyes were dark brown as was his hair. He was
rather lightly built and had pale skin. In his hand was a weapon much
like mine. But both his hands had been hit by my shots, while the third
missed. Therefore he could not use the gun.
"Who the hell are you. Tell me or I'll fire." I pointed the gun at
his head and smiled. "You don't want to die, do you?"
The man slowly shook his head as he sat down next to the collection
of vases. "I'll tell you. Just let me go after I've told you everything
I know."
"I don't like assassins, especially if they're trying to kill me.
Now, let me make a different deal. I don't kill you, you stay in one of
our better prisons, and I'll let you go after the war."
He sighed. "Nope, sorry, can't do that, don't trust you."
"I don't trust you either. I didn't try to kill you, you tried to
kill me. Now I could kill you right now. While you can't use your gun.
Now if we talk for to long you could die with those two hand wounds. How
about we do it my way."
"You raise a good argument, not bad at all. Okay fine. I'll tell
you. I promise I'll tell you everything, including things about the
black fleet"...........
I called up Alex again and smiled at his half shaved face and razor
in hand. "Sorry to bother you Alex, but this is important."
"Yes President. What do you want?"
"Send a message to the other two Presidents. Tell them that we're
going to meet on Moon Base x1. Tell them we will make no aggressive move
towards them if they come. And also mention I know about the black fleet
now. Tell them tomorrow, three thirty in the afternoon."
    "Yes sir! Is that all?"
    "Yes Colonel."
"Okay sir, good day" And his image, for the second time today, was
removed from the screen."
I smiled and looked back at the area around the vases. There was
blood on the floor, left by the assassin who was now in custody. The
mess would have to be cleaned up, maybe tomorrow.
Tomorrow was a busy day. Tomorrow I would defeat the enemies fleets,
and become victorious.

Hope you enjoyed it and please send C&C, I'm desperate.
Also my next fanfic will go back to by tried and tested startegy. Which
is weird, twisted, and evil. well maybe not THAT evil, but it will be
evil. This fic was just a shot at true Sci-Fi, and it missed. Oh well,
to quote a saying, "He who has never failed, has never tried anything
new." Or something like that. Well good day, Mister President! *_*
