This thread is now banned.  The question has been adequately answered--a
basic understanding of the intention behind common-law marriage laws will
make it clear that they have no application when one is living on a purely
platonic basis with people of the opposite sex.

People, please try to remember that a little research and thought can make
asking questions of the ML unecessary.  And when responding to questions,
ask yourself if the entire list needs to see what you're saying--especially
if three people have already said the same thing.
