The Beautiful Ghost of Yesterdays
Chapter One
The dark mage went silently down the halls. His long blood red robe
barely hovered off the ground and his soft slippers kept his footsteps
unheard. Torches lining the long stone hallway dimly lit his way as he
stepped up to the smallest door at the end. He knocked three times.
paused, then whispered something almost inaudible. The door swung open,
but not by any mortal hand.
The sorcerer walked up to a large cauldron in the middle of the room and
placed a small rose within it. Instantly a liquid rose up to swallow the
flower and carry it to depths unknown. He chanted words of an ancient
language over the black water and dropped a small pendent into it. The
necklace smoked and then sunk into the souplike mixture.
"So we shall begin it all very soon" he whispered and turned to leave.
"Yuremi!! Yuremi!!" a sudden exaggerated voice permeated the air. "You
better not be on that computer!!"
Yuremi Kinotachi hurriedly closed several of the windows she had up,
"No, Mom!!"
As the final window closed and the computer shut down Yuremis mother,
Asuka Kinotachi, wandered in. She checked the computer first then let
her gaze wander down to her fair daughters smiling face as she worked on
her homework. Yuremis long midnight black hair framed her thin face and
highlighted her curiously purple eyes. She smiled up at her mother again
as she turned and left.
"That was close," she sighed and jumped as the telephone rang. She ran
over and picked it up before her mother could. "Hello?"
"Be ready," the voice on the other end told her and hung up. She stared
at the phone for a minute then hung up. <Be ready?> Yuremi thought for a
moment then brightened and jumped down the stairs two at a time.
"Be back in a minute!!" she called and ran out the door, grabbing her
purse. As she ran she pulled her hair into a ponytail and smoothed out
her jeans.
"Yo! Yuremi!" a tall boyish looking man ran up and threw a Coca-Cola to
her. She caught it and waved to him.
"Konnichiwa, Yukijiko! Whats going on? Whyd you call me?" she hugged
her friend and waved to the others. "Hey, guys!!"
"Well, you were about twenty minutes late and we were worried, baka,"
Yukijiko landed a soft knock on her head and led her over. "Why wouldnt
I call?"
Yuremi shrugged, "I dont know."
They all piled into a large beat-up truck and went off down the road.
It was just a usual outing for eighteen year old people. They stopped
off at a McDonalds before running over to the local hangout, the
SakuraTix. The SakuraTix was a park, stadium, gaming center, and a dance
club. Yuremi, Yukijiko, Daisuke, Chika, and Hikaru pushed their way past
the normal hoard of people and found a small bench still open. They sat
down and pulled out their dinners.
"This is going to be great!" Chika yelled. It was her first concert and
it ended up being her favorite group, TailWind. "Thanks for bringing
me!"
"Why wouldnt we bring you?" Hikaru dug through his fries. "You
mentioned the concert everyday until we invited you."
A sudden flying kick and Hikaru was lying flat on the ground, "Ow"
"Do you have to be so mean, Hikaru-kun?" Daisuke helped him up and
touched his shoulder. "Take it easy on, Chika-san. It is her first
concert after all."
"Hai, hai," Hikaru sat down on the bench and smiled sweetly at Chika.
"Dont be such an idiot fangirl."
*Boom* Once again Hikaru was on the ground and two people stood over
him.
"HIKARU!!" Chika and Daisuke glared down at him.
"Oi, take it easy!" Hikaru laughed and put his hands up in self defense.
"Chika really doesnt like Hikaru-chan does she?" Yuremi watched the
proceedings with a mild interest.
"Nope," Yukijiko was sitting on top of the table, directly behind Yuremi
. "But Im glad Daisuke is defending him. Poor Daisuke has to do that a
lot."
"Hikaru just needs to learn how to control his voice. That baka doesnt
know what his words do to poor Chika. She likes him you know."
"Really?" Yukijiko looked at Chika, now pounding on Hikaru. "Doesnt
seem like it"
"Well, youre not a girl for one thing and you werent told," Yuremi
leaned back and hit his knees. "Move over!"
"Fine!" he slid over and practically fell off the table. When he looked
up again Daisuke was hitting Hikaru over the head with a program. "I
feel sorry for that guy."
"Hikaru? Yeah, but you have to admit that he is pretty mean to Chika
sometimes," Yuremi closed her eyes and sighed. "I also think that
Daisuke is being mean today."
"What? Hes just defending Chika," Yukijiko pointed out. "See?"
Points of the fight were floating over as they talked.
"BAKA!"
"Leave me alone!!"
"Stop hitting me, AHO!"
"Stop being mean!"
"Stop it, Daisuke!"
"Yeah, Daisuke, stop-OW!"
"HIKARU!!"
Yuremi sighed and shook her head, "Hey, Yuki, do you think we should get
some normal friends?"
"Normal friends? What and lose the entertainment? No way," Yuki laughed
and closed his eyes. "When was the concert supposed to start?"
"Around nine," Yuremi looked over at the stage and noticed some more
people setting things up. "Its going to take another hour."
Suddenly Hikaru stomped up and leaned down to Yuremi, "Hey, Yure, can I
borrow your purse for a minute?"
"Why?" Yuremi grabbed her purse defensively.
"Okay, how about anything else?" he rubbed his head and motioned towards
the other program.
"Yeah, go ahead," she nodded and watched as Hikaru snatched the booklet
and ran back into the fight screaming: "Payback!!"
Yuremi laughed and looked over her shoulder to talk to Yuki. Her
laughter froze and caught in her throat.
"Yure, what is it?" Yuki waved his hand in front of her and followed her
gaze. There was someone in a blood red robe pointing at them.

C&C direly wanted and needed. Please check this out. It's just a
beginning. See what you think and write me back! All characters are
original, the only borrowed names are Chika (Sakamoto Chika-sama) and
Hikaru (Midorikawa Hikaru-sama). This doesn't mean they act like that or
there is anything in this fic that refers to them other than by name. If
later on you're wondering where I got the title, e-mail me privately to
find out.
Until the next time our fateful paths cross, farewell and good wishes
fellow chroniclers of fanfiction.
