As promised, here it is. A teaser for something that promises to keep me
awake well through High School and College.

The child looked up from her dosing spot. Fallen asleep again, another
constant that had succeeded its way into her life. Nothing had been going
right lately. Her grades, though a moot point on her priority list, had
taken a dip of their own, she was having even more house troubles than she
thought possible without her friend there, and now she was here; a deftly
uncomfortable chair in some hospital, passing out again. Rei told her not to
worry much, but that was also all she seemed to do lately, or at least since
two months ago.
What a train-wreck that had been. It wasn't a great deal of things or
people that Akagi Usagi had taken in her heart as valuable, but Rei Ayanami
was one of them. And now this was all she could do to keep from breaking
down and finding a quick way out of this horrid, droll existence. She didn't
know much of what happened on the fire-eyed girl's visits below ground, as
she didn't feel the need to travel there anymore, but she did know it was
important. [But how important must those things be if you must risk life
and limb for them?]
She glanced over at the sleeping girl under the mass of a dozen or so
medical machinery. The price was too high for Usagi. If God wanted that much
for his messengers to get close to the humans, let him. This world wasn't
worth much to her anyway.
She suddenly halted that train of thought, scared to continue that path as
she knew where it would lead her. She rose to her feet and slowly walked to
Rei's side. Looking in grief at the girl's disturbed face, she brushed a
finger along the line of her jaw. "I'm going to get some water, I'll be back
soon." As if through a link between the touch, the restless frightened
motions ceased, and the girl's face relaxed.
Out in the hall, she sipped absently from her cup, wondering once more how
that could have been avoided. Maybe if she volunteered herself? Even if Rei
had been preparing for this about as long as she'd known her, she'd have
switched putting her in that overgrown TV mecha any day. Still, Rei had been
training for that test a good while, and she turned out like that. How would
have Usagi fared, acknowledging she could get that thing started? Still, she
would have preferred to have to have gone in that thing than Rei.
The blaring alarms shook her from her reverie, and the tremor not to far
behind shook the cup from her hand. She looked around, panic contaminating
her heart like a high-class virus. They were here, and nothing was here to
stop them! But that would mean he'd
Usagi rushed back to Rei's room to reassure herself that he hadn't touched
her. The skidded halt was heard even above the alarm's blaring, as well as
the sigh of relief. Good, he wasn't making her do it again. Maybe he did
have an actual heart somewhere beneath the thirty feet of titanium he called
his body. She took notice that her friend was beginning to stir, and came to
her bedside quickly.
"Usagi-chan, what is happening?" Her crimson eyes shown only with the
curiosity that faintly echoed from her voice.
"I think they've arrived Rei-chan. God's sent his Angel's for us."
A girl of light.
A child of dark.
A boy of destiny.
Nexusrifts presents its first story
CHILDREN OF THE FORGE: An Evangelion/Sailor Moon Crossover
For those asking, Nexusrifts is a series of stories, in some casses epics,
that take a different spin of how things usually go. I haven't seen this
kind of crossover, so I'm assuming it's a once in a blue moon thing. This
will be worked on and put up at my own convenence, though I 'could' be
persuaded if you all think its worth seeing ASAP. Any further comments,
flames, etc should be sent to the normal reply address.
Ja ne!!!^_^

of Usagi in a plug suit. You know where to find me.)
"Damn morning people, annoying, cheerful, energetic morning people.
People
better off dead. Shoot them just on principle. Blaster,
near. Shoot. No.
Stay. In bed. Forever. My place, my bed. Mine, mine."

"'So long Shin-boy, we hardly knew ye. And yet, it would be better
if most of us were ignorant of that annoying cowardice that is so you,
now wouldn't it?' And thus, the Obnoxious Otaku push the button that
launched Shinji Ikari and Unit 01 into the Earth's core, and there was
much rejoycing."
