Matrix Dragon Presents....
Ocarina's Love Part Two B
***
Akane returned home the next day, and got Ranma's side of the story.
Everyone was surprised when she didn't go off at him.
Ukyo also returned on the same day. Navi spent the day down at Ucchans
talking to her, and it seemed like the two girls were becoming good friends.
Link smiled at the thought. With the exception of himself, Navi had never
had much to do with anyone. The fairy had always been a
loner.
<Maybe my life is starting to calm down,> he thought to himself. <A
place like this.... A bit lively, but I could call it home.>
***
Kuno walked into Ucchans, not noticing Navi hiding under the counter.
Ukyo smiled at him. "How can I help you sugar?"
"I wish to know the truth about Saotome and the pig-tailed girl."
Ukyo blinked. "Okay. When Ranchan and Genma were in China, they went to
these cursed springs. Now Genma turns into a panda and
Ranchan changes sex whenever splashed with cold water."
"You lie! Saotome has enslaved the pig-tailed girl with his black
magic!"
"Ranchan doesn't know any magic." Somehow, Ukyo was managing to refrain
from laughing at him.
"I must consider this. Until we met again," and with that he left,
looking like a stupid idiot (There's a good reason for that).
Navi flew up to Ukyo's shoulder. "That guy is an idiot."
"You said it Navi. Now eat your okonomiyaki before it goes cold."
Navi took a bite out of the extra-extra-small okonomiyaki. "You think
he'll figure it out?"
"No, I doubt it. Kuno should have known about the curse since Ranchans
first day at school over a year ago, but he still hasn't figured it out."
"Yeah, sounds pretty stupid." The pair of them continued to talk for the
next hour or so, until closing time. Ukyo began to clean the grill. Now that
they were alone, Navi had a few questions to ask. "So, what'd you and Ranma
fight over?"
"How'd you know about that? I thought Link took you with him?"
Navi smirked. "He did. But the fact you weren't around for the next week
was a major clue. Besides, Link asked Ranma 'bout it. He said it had
something to do with the wedding disaster."
Ukyo sighed. "It was about that. He was mad about how I'd been involved
in destroying it." She laughed quietly. "The amazing thing is, he admitted
which one of us he loves. Akane. There I was, trying to save him from an
unhappy marriage, when he really would have been happy!"
"You didn't know," Navi said, trying to reassure her.
"Well I should have!" Ukyo sobbed. "I was supposed to be the normal one,
the smart one! And I didn't have a clue!" She collapsed to her knees and
held her face face in her hands. "And n-now I might not e-even have him as a
friend!"
Navi's heart went out to the young girl in front of her. Quickly she
cast a simple sleep spell, and watched Ukyo quickly cried herself to sleep
on the floor. Then she flew outside and set course for the Tendo Dojo.
A few minutes later she returned, Link towing along behind her. He took
one look at her and carried her to her room, then cleaned up what
Ukyo had missed. "Navi, what happened here?"
"Well, I asked her about that fight, and then she began to explain it-"
"-And it was too much for her."
"Link. During the fight, Ranma said he loves Akane."
Link facefaulted. Onto the grill, which still had some heat in it.
"YEOW! Navi, don't do that!"
"I'm serious!"
"Navi, you've heard everything Ranma's said about Akane. It was probably
Ukyo hearing things that weren't really there." Even as he said that, Link
couldn't help but wonder. Ranma loving Akane was something he could believe.
***
Link dropped in front of the Tv, flicking through the channels. The
image of a sinking boat caught his attention.
"-rimal group known as Team Rocket attempted the biggest robbery in
history today, when they took over the ocean liner Saint Anne. The
liner was the site of a large Pokemon Trainers convention, and Team Rocket
took full advantage of it." The screen changed to a shot of the
room where the trainers had been held.
"However, their plans were ruined the trainers fought back and defeated
the criminals. Several members of Team Rocket are now in police custody."
"Sadly, the damage caused by the battle destroyed the Saint Anne, and it
has suck to the bottom of the ocean. It is believed that not all of the
trainers escaped the boat, and went down with it. Full details are not yet
known, but it is known that a young trainer by the name-"
Link looked at the shots of the battle. "Hey Ranma, what are Pokemon?"
"You don't know what pokemon are?" Ranma sounded surprised.
"Nope. Talk."
"They're these animals with weird abilities. Some can throw lightning
bolts, some are telepathic, all sorts of stuff like that. Pokemon Trainers
catch them and train them to fight. There're a lot of trainers in the police
force." He jabbed a finger at Genma. "I always wanted a Squirtle as a kid,
but Pop went on about how men don't have pets and junk like that."
"So they're pretty common?"
"Yeah, more or less. Since Tokyo became so big though, there aren't many
around here."
Link grinned. "I wouldn't mind a pokemon or two," he said to himself.
Navi groaned. "Here we go again. First it was forbidden tech, then
magical spells, and now Pokemon!"

That night, Mousse returned with a collection of scrolls from the Amazon
Villiage. Cologne found herself sitting at one of the tables in the
Nekohanten, reading stories that she had never bothered to look at before.
She, like the rest of the Elders, had believed that the Elves had finally
died out, and as such had never bothered to learn of their history.
"..And on that day, those chosen by destiny did battle with the Evil
King. Like his phantom, the Evil Kings power was reflected back at him,
giving the warrior time to wound him with the weapon of light. This
continued until the Evil King fell." Cologne frowned, as the story ended
there, yet it was obvious there was more to tell. Placing that scroll to the
side, she picked up another and began to read it.
"The man who killed the beast that was once known as the Evil King, was
chosen by destiny to recover the last piece of the triforce. It was........"
Cologne placed it aside.
"The last Hero of the Elves faced a creation of his foe, one that had
grown in the years since it's unnatural birth. With the Triforce of Courage
at his command, and the Holy Blade in his grip, the pair fought as the
palace was destroyed around them. At last, the hero fell, his foes
spearthrough his chest. But with the last of his strength, the Hero placed
the Holy Blade through the Dark One's heart, trapping him between worlds."
Cologne's eyes narrowed as she read the next part of the text. "The doom of
the Elves was already sealed. As their towns were destroyed, the world
itself was sent against them, scattering them far and wide. But in those
final days, the last words of the hero were remembered. The power of the
gods showed him the future, showed him the truth."
"The one who came before me shall return, to a world where his people
are no more.
He shall face a battle unlike any other.
One will try to control him,
Another will try to destroy him.
He must win or we are forever damned.
The Chosen One, our savior.
The Hero of Time
Cologne placed the scroll back on the table. A fear that she had never
felt before was building in her stomach. She had to talk to Link, and soon.
***
Ukyo looked at her shop. Someone had been here, and cleaned up what she
had missed. She remembered crying herself to sleep the night
before, and whoever had cleaned up had put her in bed as well. Who was it?
***
Link swore. All of his clothes were in the wash. He stuck his head out
the window, where Ranma was fighting Genma. "Hey Ranma, can I
borrow some of your clothes?" He yelled.
"Sure."
Link ducked inside and put on a chinese shirt and pants. As he ducked
out the door, Navi flew in, dripping wet. "What happened to you?"
"The panda splashed me!" she growled. Link looked out the window again
and saw a very charred panda. "When did you learn a fire spell?"
"Jaana taught me."
<Thanks a lot Jaana,> he thought as he adjusted the straps on the golden
gauntlets.
***
Link, Ranma and Akane were walking to school the usual way. Navi had
decided to go check on Ukyo and make sure she was all right. Link
was flipping through a rather thick book, muttering something about garlic
and blackroot. Ranma was on the fence. And Akane-
-was on the fence as well. For some reason she had decided to try it
out, and was doing a rather good job of it. So good in fact, that Ranma
wasn't insulting her.
SPLASH!!
Ranma-chan shook her hair dry and glared at who had thrown it. "Kuno?"
"At long last, I know the truth! I must apologize for my foolishness
Ranma, and find some way to repay thee!"
Link blinked. "You splashed her with cold water. And called her Ranma.
Who are you, what have you done with the real Kuno, and could you leave him
there?"
"Silence Hylia!" Kuno made a heroic looking (ie really stupid) pose. "I
know now of the horror my love must face! For she must endure the agony of
turning into a man whenever splashed with hot water! But still I shall love
her!"
"I was wrong, you're the real Kuno. No one else could be so stupid,"
Link said.
"Kuno you idiot! I'm a man cursed to turn into a girl!" Ranma was
annoyed. No, make that really mad.
Kuno rambled on about something for a few seconds, then was crushed as
Shampoo's bike landed on him. "Great-grandmother want to talk to Elf-boy!"
she said before glomping Ranma-chan. The red-headed girl squirmed loose and
ran for the school, Akane and Link close behind. As he ran, Link yelled out
that he'd talk to her tonight.
Link fired his longshot onto a roof and pulled himself up. Now roof
hopping, he had a chance of making it to school on time. At least, he did
until he saw someone else was up there with him. The bandanna gave it away.
<It's that Ryouga guy. Must be lost.> He knew Akane had forgiven the lost
boy, but that didn't stop him from making a huge mistake. "Hey P-chan!"
Ryouga spun around, his aura becoming visible. "DIE RANMA! SHISHI
HOUKODAN!!" Link ducked the large ki-blast, and rolled off the
roof. As he landed, he wondered why Ryouga thought that he was Ranma.
<Of course! He must have seen the shirt! But why is he so mad? Akane
said he calmed down.> He drew Biggerons sword as Ryouga leapt to
the ground.
"That sword won't save you Ranma," he snarled. "Shishi Houkodan!" Over a
dozen ki-spheres flew at the Hero of Time, who simply deflected them with
his sword in a method similar to a lightsaber. He winced as one sphere blew
a car to shreds, then grinned as Ryouga gathered his ki for a more powerful
blast. "Shishi Houkodan!" The sphere that was flying towards Link was as
large as him. Calmly he watched it fly towards him, before slashing downward
with all of his strength. Instantly the sphere flew back at Ryouga, who was
too surprised to
dodge.
Link sheathed the sword, and pulled out his bow. As he took aim, he
whispered Navi's name, calling her to him.
The Ice Arrow flew straight, slamming into the Lost Boys umbrella and
freezing him solid. Less then a second later, the ice shattered and Ryouga
charged towards Link. The bow disappeared and Link braced himself for
impact. <Navi, you better get here fast!>
The pair collided, Link's gauntlets glowing with magical power as they
gave the elf the strength to face Ryouga's incredible might. In the end
though, it was not enough, and Ryouga threw Link into the side of a truck.
He fell to the ground, stunned. Ryouga walked up to his fallen foe. "And now
it ends Ranma!"
Ryouga's fist slammed into Link's head, creating a crater on the ground.
Ryouga inspected the body. The head was at an angle that was not normally
considered possible. At last Ranma was dead. Then he saw the face.
"Damn it! Ranma tricked me again! You'll pay for this!" With that he set
off in the direction of the North Pole, but with Ryouga's sense of
direction, it would not be long before he found his prey.
Behind him, a small fairy popped out of a bottle. Quickly it set about
it's work, healing Link's wounds and restoring life to his body. Link bit
back a scream as he moved his shattered shoulder, not yet completely healed.
"Link!" Navi screamed as she flew down. "What happened?"
"It's Ryouga. He's gone insane. He wants Ranma dead, and will kill to do
it! He thought I was Ranma and snapped my neck." He climbed to
his feet, all the wounds gone. "Fly ahead of me and warn Ranma!" As Navi
flew as fast as she could, Link looked at Ryouga's glowing form in the
distance. "He's building up his ki," he realized. "When he does find Ranma,
it won't be pretty." He looked at his left palm, where the Triforce had
begun to glow. "Goddesses help us," he whispered. "And may the light have
mercy on our souls."
End Part Two

Authors Notes:
Okay, anyone who wondered about Ryouga, don't worry, all will be
revealed soon. Not next chapter though. Kuno getting the curse wrong I
stole from Crossed Wires/Mixed Signals. I know Ukyo fans will be mad with
how I made Ukyo suffer, but things will get better.
Link spent four years in the Ultima universe. I don't care what your
opinion of those games are, I like them and it's staying that way.
Also,no-one from that universe will be showing up. At least not for quite a
while.
In part three, Ryouga and Ranma clash in their final battle in which it
seems only one of them will walk away alive! Ryouga seems to have gone
insane as his attacks injure bystanders. And the only way to win the battle
is one that will haunt the warriors of Nerima forever.
