Standard explanation?  Standard _fanfic_ explanation?  As I understand it, 
Mrs. Tendou's death was never explained in manga or anime, only the fact she 
is deceased.  By what means are unclear.  The author could say she was 
abducted by demon sex tentacles and never heard from again and we'd have to 
believe them because that's what happens in the _fan fiction_.  However, I 
could be wrong.  If so, ignore me.  ^_^
