the new timeline.  Elseworlds fit in here, as do Alternate Histories.

Actually, this definition contradicts the general usage that's evolved.
"Alternate" or more commonly just "Alt" is used to refer to stories
that you call a "continuity split"

Written very much in the 'style' of the original Manga

More commonly called "Original Flavor".

I believe standard tags along these lines are listed in the FAQ.  It might
help your readership to use them, rather than more idiosyncratic personal
ones.
