Shampoo 1/2
End Notes
(a.k.a.: This is just a little late)
Sorry for the late nature of this. I was originally going to post a long
winded version of this, giving out what my thoughts were during certain
chapters, or how things changed from what I originally envisioned to what
the final product was, and what feedback helped me make both minor and
major revisions throughout the course of the story. The whole thing seemed
like it was going to be the size of one of the chapters of the fic. Then I
realized something.
I had neither the time nor inclination to do it. Moreover, what little I
wrote did not seem even particularly interesting to me, and if I found it
boring, I have little doubt most everyone else would too. Therefore we
shall keep this brief.
Plans for the future concerning Shampoo 1/2:
I'll be doing rewrites of the script chapters into prose (Yes. At one time
script format was actually somewhat popular. Too bad when I started this
it no longer was ^_^) And then I'll be doing minor revisions throughout
the other chapters in order to tighten things up in the story. Technically
the whole thing was a sort of rough draft, though do not expect anything
major to be different. My prose has improved somewhat since the beginning
from about a year and a half ago, though it still has a long way to go.
Hopefully, once it's complete the whole thing will be a better read. Lord
knows looking over some of the early chapters, I'm really forced to cringe
at some of the things I did.
Currently chapter 2 is about 10% completed. It's really quite remarkable
how five script lines suddenly become two pages of prose material. It
might take a while to do since real life is nipping at my heels and I'm
still writing on some new works. Won't list them all, since after writing
the same story for a year and a half more than a few ideas accumulated in
my mind, but there should be a slow trickle of them over a period of time.
In the meantime I will also work on converting a couple of 'lost' chapters
into prose and releasing them eventually. They are more in the vein of the
light-hearted style of the earlier chapters and don't really move the
story along much (which is why they were cut) but perhaps you will be
amused by them. Still, don't expect to see them anytime soon.
Side Stories:
I know I said I would probably do a couple of side stories of certain
areas that were not covered very much in the main story, but right now
they are on the backburner until my muse begins whispering in my ear to
write them. Of late she has been giving me ideas upon different stories
and working on them, and above all others, she is the one that I listen to
the most.
Sequel:
Right now all but the first story arc is a jumble in my head. The first
part fell into place quite easily (and will be written no matter what else
may happen), but for all of the other story elements I have, they still
have not gelled together in a pattern I am satisfied with. I'm hoping it
will all come together in the ensuing months, but I won't write it until
it feels good enough to me. Still, the first story arc is already
practically self-contained and promises to be long enough, so something
will be written eventually, which hopefully you'll enjoy. Still, I'm not
counting on it being started in less than 6 months.
Well, there is another alternative idea I have in my head concerning a
sequal, but I really want to try to get my first one written first. It
would make things...easier to follow.
Couple of loose ends:
Actually there are more than a couple, but allow me to address a few of
the more odd ones:
Chapter 18: Ace at the end. This was a case of an idea in my head that
time and space consideration forced me to rethink. That little part with
her and Andy Bogard will be cut and no longer exist. Consider it erased.
Chapter 31 The Mask of the Blood Weeper Perfume and the others mentioned.
Due to be in the sequel. It'll eventually be explained.
Minami and the whole Fistandantilus bit: Due to come out in a separate
Devil Hunter Yohko side fic one of these days, but not in the near future.
Sorry.
Birdy: I think he was self-explanatory. There's nothing to write about
there. (Why yes, I am a bastard. ^_^)
If there are any others questions you wish to ask about concerning loose
ends, unexplained things, original characters and their backgrounds, feel
free to do so and I will try to answer them to the best of my abilities.
One other thing. I know there were at least a handful of people that
expressed at least a passing interest in things like Ai's and TWPOS's
development (amazing how one line on an outline that says 'A ship takes
Ranma and the others back to Japan' can suddenly blossom into something
far bigger than was ever imagined) and I said I would post something on
them. Well it would be best if I do it privately instead, so go ahead and
ask again (and help jog my memory)
Hmm, not much else to say. I'll probably get around to releasing a
humorous 'outtakes' version of things eventually, as well as a list of all
the crossover elements I used in cameos and other inside jokes, so there
might be one more posting after this. At least when I get around to
writing it out that is.
