This jumped into my head when you wrote this.
On Fri, 7 May 1999, David Johnston wrote:
Means little. The Old Ones are not exactly a united confederation of
nastiness. In fact they can act just like Sailor Moon villains, always
feuding with each other.
The girl staggerd and fell in the snow exposing the building beneath.
Her knees were bloodied and raw already and the contact with the cold
stone was like a sledghammer.
Somehow she rose and stumbled onward.
Usagi sighed.
It was all to hard, it would never work.
Her tears had stopped long ago and she was glad of that at least.
The icy cold had caused them to freeze painfully and hurt her eyes.
They were dead, all of them. She had seen some swallowed up by the
Madness and simply felt the loss of the others.
She wished she could look down but she was forced to look onward.
She had found that when she looked down she could sometimes make out
what looked like some sort of writing on the black basalt.
-Except that writing didn't move by itself or whisper things in your
brain.
Mercury would have know how to read it - And probably could hve without
going mad - but she was dead.
She knew hat she was doing would kill her to but at least it might mean
something.
She firmed her grip onm the stalf on which was mounted the stone.
-the crystal that looked like a broken star.
And walked into the city which itself Defined Madness...

I have been writing an SM/Lovecraft crossover.... _trying_ to write is a better term.
One's humorous while the other's a lot more serious.
Wanna see ?
Here's a fragment of the first one:
Usagi looked at the strange-looking mobile mushroom as various parts of its ...
er ...anatomy glowed.
"What ? I don't understand... First letter.....Y....Second letter.....O....." this
continued for half an hour before the fungi finally got tired and decided to just
write it down. In plain Japanese, of course. No need for the girl to go crazy just
yet.
Usagi puzzled over what the mushroom had written and arched an eyebrow.
"You mean I'm supposed to fight people who are trying to violate people's rights
to religious freedom ?" she asked disbelievingly of the mushroom, to which it
responded by glowing blue, black and red in a weird pattern.
"I'm assuming that's a yes," Usagi said as she looked back to the paper. "Harvest
brains in the name of Science ?"
The mushroom glowed red, violet and yellow. Usagi sighed. "I'll try to puzzle that
out later. So what should I call you...no don't glow, write, " she said offering another
piece of paper. The mushroom once again scrawled something.
"Yuggoth ? Sound like something from my dad's books."
The mushroom suddenly glowed red totally and it started giving of colors like a
discoball. Then Usagi heard her friend Naru's voice coming from one of the mushroom's
visible orifices.
"Help ! Help !"
"That's Naru-chan's voice !" Usahi gasped out. She could hear machine-gun fire in the
background. She could also hear some shouting about stopping some foul ritual.
"I gotta help her !" The mushroom nodded and started jumping around. After jumping a
few times the mushroom did a triple somersault, glowed for a moment and a locket fell
to the floor.
It looked brand new and was shiny black. There intricate eldritch designs around the edges
and Usagi could see a vague octopoid form in the center as she picked it up. The mushroom scrambled over to the paper and pencil. Scrawling frantically, it finished and showed the
paper to Usagi.
"Shout 'Cthulhu Power Make-up' ?"
The mushroom nodded, repeatedly.
"Well, okay. CTHULHU POWER MAKE-UP !!!"

Kurishirou Yamagata smiled in satisfaction as he managed to disrupt the ritual of the
cult that he'd been watching for months now. His machinegun was scattering them quite
handily from their secret meeting place in the OSA-P Jewelry store when he suddenly
heard a behind him.
"Wha-" he said turning around to see the cause of the disturbance. What he saw was
terrifying to say the least.
A vague octopoid head, tentacles a-flutter.
Leathery,membranous wings.
Red, malevolent eyes.
And to top it all off, it was wearing a short skirted sailor fuku and had a really weird hair style.
It started to gibber something in a guttural language and it's claws started waving around
along with the tentacles.
Yamagata screamed and screamed and screamed.

Oooookay, I told you I was trying to write it. Blame that one on sleep deprivation and the
Delta Green Mailing List.
The next one is serious and I blame it all on Biles and Rod M.

A beautful city of crystal.
An illusion of Paradise.
The fuku clad figure smiled evilly as she surveyed her handiwork. Idiots all of them, thinking
they were doing good. Hah, they were weakening Humanity for the coming Time. Especially
the Queen who trusted had trusted her advise. So trusting. So innocent. So stupid.
Pluto laughed as she held her Staff and stood by the Gate, gifts from the true Key and Gate,
Yog-Sothoth.
Soon the stars will be right. And she, the Crawling Chaos, Nyarlathotep will see the looks
of horror upon her fellow Senshi.

Once again, I said I'm _trying_. Damned ideas just won't come.
