It is 2029. Corporate networks and the Internet have grown to
become a vast Hypernet. The advance of computerization, however,
has not yet wiped out nations and ethnic groups.

The clock is ticking...

"Wait, both forces are moving again. They appear to be
approaching each other at high speed, as if they are playing a
game of chicken, except that this game is using over a
     hundred tanks."

The force is building...

A quick kick to the chest should have knocked him down, giving
her a chance to escape yet again. Instead, she fell to the
ground, her foot in pain from the impact. The soldier merely
stood, staring at her. She looked around, noticing that the
other four surrounded her, standing where she had seen only the
     clearing a moment before.

The only thing that can be done...

The girl put one hand on each dumpster, pushing them apart with
apparently little effort. Stallman's jaw dropped.

Steve continued his rocking. "It... made me... I did...
     things..."

He could hear her panting between the reports of the gun. She
continued to fire, and Bateau could hear her say something.
"*BANG* you ever *BANG* *BANG*my children *BANG* again!
     *click* *click* *click*"

Is to become one of them.

Taras stood up. As she did so, Scott and a handful of people
in the room also stood up. All eyes remained on her. "This
     Merged will assist us."

She leapt over the table at the end of the hallway and smashed
     through the window.

She looked up at the broken window, three stories above, before
gazing up at the 20-story height of the building. "Things
     could be worse."

Scott stepped up to the window and looked down upon Taras.

Taras stood and looked back. "But not by much."

Coming soon, the conclusion.

Jen pointed at Taras. "What about you? You're gonna fight this
     one out, aren't you?"

She could quickly see that even her digitally enhanced ghost was
unable to do anything but watch and wait.

The sequel to Ghost in the Shell,

Kusanagi looked sharply at the sergeant. "We're not gonna land?"

"Don't get disoriented as you leave the vehicle." The sergeant
literally kicked Kusanagi out of the helicopter.

Birth of a Species
Life will bever be the same again.

She flipped him over to his back. "Shut up! You'll give away
     our position!"

Frohike smiled. "Welcome to the dark side."

The last chapter is nearing completion. I am now looking for pre-readers
for the completed story.
