A Ranma/Tenchi/Dragon Ball Z Crossover idea.

Plot:

I.)

Yosho of Jurai had more than one child. One was Achika Masaki ,
and
the other was Nodoka Masaki. Later she would be known as Nodoka
Saotome.

Makes for a convenient, if somewhat contrived, mechanism for the
crossover. It has certainly been done before by better writers than
us. :)

II.)

The Jurai power is mysterious and enigmatic. For each inheritor of
it's power, it takes on a form which is unique to the individual.
For
Tenchi Masaki, it was the Wings of the Light Hawk. But for one
other
individual, it takes on the form of tremendous skill and power in
the
Martial Arts. For Ranma Saotome, it's a potential power that can
even
rival that of a Sayajin Elite.

This one is going to be a hard sell. The importance and singular
nature of Tenchi's ability vs. that of regular Juraians, Yosho
included, is well established. You would also have to take into
account Tsunami's role in the making of Tenchi, if you'll pardon the
expression.

An alternative solution, perhaps, would be to have Ranma's natural
abilities at chi/ki (take your pick) manipulation augment his
ability to use the Jurai power (or vice versa). That would make
Ranma's ability as singular as Tenchi's, depending on how much
stronger it makes his Jurai power. Imagine a Moko Takabisha enhanced
by the Jurai power. Just a thought.

a.)

Soun and Genma hear of the Tenkai-ichi Budoukai (a World Martial
Arts
Tournament) and naturally enrolls Ranma for the good of the school.
Knowing that the opportunity for Ranma to test his skills against
the
most powerful Martial Artists in the world is a chance that Ranma
cannot miss.

That would work for Ranma, I believe, especially if another R1/2
character enters first and challenges him.

c.)

Gokou, Vegita and the Z-warriors also enter the Budoukai, Vegita's
first match is with the heir of the Saotome school of Anything-goes
Martial Arts. One Ranma Saotome. He can feel the untapped power
of
this human and is a little shocked. The fight goes on and of course
Vegita is the victor. Though he wonders why Ranma didn't use his
full
power and is insulted.

Sure. As I have mentioned to you before, I'm only passing familiar
with DBZ, but from what I understand of Vegita, I believe that would
be in character.

I like the idea of the setting being an international-level contest;
however, I would suggest you detail your setting of it. I've seen
many fics have a tournament, but they don't deal much with the
atmosphere and mechanics of a tournament and how the characters we
know and love work through them and express their character in that
context beyond yelling, threatening, or evil-eyeing each other. An
additional suggestion would be to alternate fight scenes with scenes
of character development - it would give you a beneficial
alternation between tension and repose.
