My big problem is that I do not think Ayeka or Ryoko 
(defintly not Ryoko) would ever pretend to be interested in another
guy to 
make Tenchi jealous even if it is for his own good. I would need a
pretty 
good reason for them to do so and I did not see one in this story.

Maybe. This didn't occur to me when I read the story but...

Neither of them are stupid. They would be probably be able to tell that
they weren't getting anywhere, and I think that they love Tenchi enough
to risk losing him...
