"No, don't leave me, you don't have leave do you? You've done
your best in fighting and you don't deserve this. Please, don't
leave me. YUUSKE!" Keiko cried over Yuuske's lifeless form. A
disease caused by Meitei, a youkai that uses diseases to attack,
had killed him. Yuuske had fought bravely, saving Keiko's life.

Yuuske, Keiko, Botan, Koenma, Hiei, Kurama, Kuwabara, Yukina,
Shizuru, and Atuko were walking down the street, coming back
from a makai tournament, which Yuuske won again. They were all
chatting happily, even Hiei, which was quite unusual for him,
when Meitei appeared. "You will pay for what you have done to me
Urameshi Yuuske!" Meitei screamed. Yuuske responded, "What did
I do to you? I only killed you because I had to win and you were
in my way. Is there a problem with that?" Meitei growled, "Of
course there is! I'm going to kill you and take you to the
reikai!" Before Yuuske can respond, Keiko said, "He's already
been dead twice. I don't think he needs to die anytime soon in
the next 50 years!" "Oh, little girl covering up for a big guy
like Yuuske?" Meitei said mockingly. "Shut up or I'm going to
kill you once more!" Yuuske screamed. "Yeah, shut up and I'm not
a little girl" Keiko came back. Meitei then said, "How about you
pretty boy? If you were a little shorter and you wore a dress,
everyone will think you are a girl!" Kurama spat back, "At least
I don't look like a backside with pairs of hands and feet
sticking out of the sides!" "Thanks. I'll take as a compliment.
I am the best looking out of my race!" Meitei exclaimed.
Everyone but Meitei、 sweat dropped. Then Meitei continued,
"And you, shorty? I can kill you like squashing a fly!" Hiei
spoke quietly but menacingly, "Hn. You say one more word about
me and you can go to hell with you ugly face. By the way, which
side is your front? You've got too many backsides on you." "Do
you know who we are?" Kurama and Yuuske spoke at the same time.
"Yeah, you're the 'famous' Urameshi Team with Youko Kurama,
Hiei, Urameshi Yuuske, and Kuwabara Kazuma. I bet you I can
stomp you sorry butts. And Kuwabara, what's wrong with you?
You're so tall and lanky; you probably can't even fight! And who
are those girls? They don't know what to do, do they? And how
about that other tall boy?" Shizuru screamed, "Shut up! We can
fight if we really wanted to! I'm Shizuru, and next to Yuuske on
the right side is Keiko and on the left is Atuko! Between Keiko
and Kazuma is Yukina and the girl next to the "tall boy" is
Botan! And the "tall boy" next to Botan is Koenma! Now do you
know who everybody is? AND ONCE FOR ALL, SHUT UP!" But Meitei
continued to taunt, "Thank you for your elegant speech Shizuru.
Anyway, little boy, or Hiei I should say, why are you so short?"
Hiei lost it. "That's it!" And Hiei started running towards
Meitei, but Yuuske and Kurama stopped him. Kurama murmured,
"Hiei, this is Yuuske's fight. Let him have a piece of Meitei
and then you can finish him off." Hiei stopped and said, "Hn."
Hiei retreated and Kurama backed everyone off.

"I....should...have st..opped...him ri.,,ght then...I knew...he
di..dn't have...enough..reki..left..." Keiko whispered while
sobbing. "It's not your fault Keiko-chan." Kurama confronted
her. "But...but.." "Hush..."a voice came from behind her. The
voice belonged to Atuko. She hugged Keiko tightly, rocking back
and forth to calm her down.

"Haaaa......." Yuuske breathed in deeply and inhaled. He was
gathering his reki, but he didn't have much left from the battle
several hours before. "This isn't going to be a clean match..."
Yuuske thought as he felt Meitei's first move.
"Keishinkokubiyou!" Meitei shouted and several black strands of
plague shot out from his mouth. Koenma made a "wall" for
everyone around him so they don't get inflicted with the plague.
"Have fun with the bubonic plague Urameshi!" Meitei roared.
Yuuske dodged most of the strands, but there were so many
strands he couldn't dodge two of them. "Agh!" Yuuske screamed as
he saw parts of his skin becoming black. The black spots became
painful like a thousand needles stabbing him at each spot and
Yuuske screamed more. "He's gotten better since the
tournament...and I only have one rei gun shot left. I can't
miss." Yuuske thought as Meitei started another attack.

"Why...why....WHY?" Keiko screamed in Atuko's arms. Why did it
always have to happen to Yuuske? Why couldn't he live a normal
life? "WHY?" And then Keiko released a wail that could have
woken up the dead.

"Ankokubyokigoroshi!" Meitei screamed. "This may kill me once
more, but at least I will take Urameshi's life with me," Meitei
thought as he shot a spray of black water from his mouth. This
water carried a disease that will kill anyone that it touches,
even a drop, and is unprotected by a "wall". "Oh man...I'm
dead..." Yuuske thought. Then he had an idea. "Maybe it will
work...but there is a possibility that will get killed too. But
I can't think of anything else. I better tell Keiko now or
she'll never know." Yuuske thought. He looked over at Keiko who
was shaking with fear behind Koenma's wall and smiled at her,
mouthing 5 words to her then turning his attention back to
Meitei. And he started to use his last plan.

"When he looked at me with that look...I should have
known.....I should have known that he meant it as a good
bye...why didn't tell me earlier instead of now? Why?" Keiko
moaned. "What did he say? I saw him mouthing something, but I
couldn't make it out..." Kurama asked. "...He said, 'I'll love
you forever, Keiko'"

"All my reiki, gather!" Yuuske thought and he felt the familiar
heat at the tip of his finger. He saw the water rushing towards
him and when the water was a meter away, he screamed, "REI GUN!"
The blast was big enough that it was even bigger than him. But
he made a mistake in making the blast too big. The water parted
as the blast shot through it, but it quickly gathered its self
back together again. As the black water hit Yuuske, the last
thought in his mind was, "Everyone, take care of Keiko for
me..." He went limp and dropped dead to the floor, never getting
to see his own blast kill Meitei.
Koenma let the wall fall and everyone rushed to Yuuske side.
Keiko immediately grabbed Yuuske's still form and started to
shake him. Kurama and Koenma tried to stop her, but she didn't
stop until she was sure he was dead. "Yuuske..." Keiko sobbed.
Then Koenma spoke up. "Keiko-chan, I have granted him the wish
to speak to you in your dreams, so you will be able to talk to
him every night if you wish. Also, he will be reborn soon, into
another body, but he will look exactly the same with the same
traits that you will not know the difference. It is fated that
you two will cross paths once more, so please be patient wait
for that day to come. You still have Yuuske in you, Keiko-chan."
Koenma concluded. "Don't leave me Yuuske..."

"Keiko...lets go home...it's been a few hours since we arrived
here. We can't spend the rest of our lives here! And besides,
you come here every day. I'm sure he's happy." Akiko exclaimed.
"He's been dead for 3 months already. And miracles are not going
to happen anymore." Botan said. "I know...hey, wait up for me
guys!" Keiko shouted as she tried to catch up with the whole
gang. But not before saying something towards the grave. "I love
you too Yuuske. See you tonight." And she ran off to catch up
with her friends, hoping to cross paths with Yuuske once more.

At the beginning, this wasn't going to be a dark fic, but I
changed my mind in the middle of writing the story. Also, this
is only on of my fist fan fics, so it's probably not that good.
