Ok folks, I just finished writing the third chapter. Would've posted sooner,
but work got the better of me. Oh yes, C&C would SO much be appreciated, MST
and flames will be accepted to (though I'll probably use the latter to print
and place inside a barbeque grill).

Chapter 3
The Legend
=======================================================
Shiris sighed, sitting down at her chair again, the Tavern waitress had
asked them to stop argueing, due to they were distracting other customers.
Judging by the stares she saw around them, she agreed. However, Margon was
still in his drunken stupor. She frowned, her violet eyes glancing to Orson,
then to Margon. "So what really brought you here, anyway?"
Margon hiccuped, and grinned broadly. "I'm off to find the Crystal of
Souls!" He laughed, holding out his arms wide as he boasted out that
statement. He didn't realize, however, the reaction that he would get.
Shiris just stood still, shocked to her core. Even Orson had frozen, and
both of them could hardly believe it. Would one man be so bold as to try and
search for the Crystal of Souls? "What are you talking about?!"
Margon chuckled and hiccuped, and appeared to be about to say something,
but then suddenly yawned, and let his face fall flat upon the table in a
drunken stupor. Shiris sighed and shook her head. In her mind, she replayed
the legend her mother and father told her so much about.
It was the War of the Gods. The Gods of Darkness had faught the Gods of
Light. Dragons of immense power, even immortal as they were, faught and died
during the war. Until only five survived...
Falaris faught Falis, behind him was the Dragon Narse, and also two
others. Shooting Star of the Fires, and Eibra, the Dragon of Water.
The gods and dragons were not the only ones fighting. Humans faught as
well. Powerful wizards and Knights went in an all out bloodshed. In the end,
the conflict left all the Gods dead, and all but five of the Ancient Dragons
to leave the world.
During the war, powerful relics were used. The Crystal of Souls,
developed by a High Priestess of Marfa, was one of them. Such a crystal could
restore the soul of a man who had died, no matter what the reasons were. It
would restore their body, and bring their souls back into this world. That
was until Eibra stole this gem... and took it into his underwater horde,
somewhere in the Blue Dragon Island... guarding it for the rest of eternity.
"Whoever has the Crystal of Souls... can raise the dead back into the
living," she quietly murmured, her bright orange cloak slowly falling over her
lithe form as she sighed, thinking for a long few moments. Then, she sighed
and lowered her eyes...
The birds chirped their morning song as Shiris and Orson rode side-by side,
Orson's large form totally wrapped in his hunter-green cloak, violet eyes
silently gazing forward past the soft brown bangs as he rode. Shiris was
glancing about, idly wondering why she was in this.
Ahead of the two, Margon rode upon his black stallion, remaining silent,
though a few murmurs and groans did emerge from the big man. Shiris had to
smirk at her cousin. True, a hangover was definatly something he deserved
after all he drank last night. "Ah.. my head hurts."
"Perhaps you shouldn't drink to much, Morgan." Shiris said, smirking.
"Shut up," Margon growled irritably.
Shiris sighed and leaned in her saddle, remaining silent as her mare moved
swiftly along the road with the others. She waited for a moment,
concentrating on guiding her mount and going through her own thoughts... until
finally. "Why do you want the Crystal of Souls?"
Margon leaned up slowly, hearing that question, but frowned, and simply
snapped the reigns, urging his horse to move along. Shiris blinked, watching
as he and Orson sped up ahead of her. Then frowned, clenching her teeth as
she snapped the reigns, and sped up to catch up with them.
