About the whole "Akane and her Hammer" Thing - 

Actually, the only sources for the Hammer being
accosiated with Akane more than anyone else are
the first Ranma movie, as most know, AND the third
Ranma fighting Game for the SNES. There Akane had
a 'special attack' which involved pulling a Hammer
out of nowhere and trying to bash her opponent.
It was actually one of her most useful moves. Of
course, Kodachi used a Hammer in that game too,
but not as well.

Anyway, that's the only other souce I've seen
that liks Akane specifically to the Hammer.
