Okay...... wow. This story.... this is great. One of the all time, single-
greatest Evangelion fanfics I have ever read, and I've read them all. This is
not a boast; I once spent sixteen hours trolling through everything in the
SDAT Database, and while there MAY be some that are longer (Eva:R and Neon
Exodus Evangelion spring to mind) there's not much there that's better, your
own previous works included.
I take total, utter offense by that statement. <g>
I particularly like how you managed to make sex (and/or implied sexual
innuendo) such a large and important part of the story without degenertaing
into the tawdryness that most lemons/limes do. I bring this up because you've
just happened to use my second favorite Eva pair-up of all: Shinji and Rei.
Those two, IMHO, were made for each other, and I'm glad to see you doing
it in
such a good way.
As I ceaselessly continue to mention: This is not a lemon, this is not a lime.
At the least, this is not the intention, despite what may be read. Though
definitely it does have its role; everything has a purpose, even though it may
not seem like it. In this case, the role was much more striking in Volume 2.
<chuckles> Well, it's an interesting method. Part of a quest to prove
that this
kind of thing does have applications rather than being restricted to a purely
lemonized fic. Also a side affect of opening a relationship between Shinji
and
Rei within one volume. <sweatdrops heavily>0
Though personally I think Gendo would take it much worse than you have
him, the
gunplay notwithstanding.
Gendou is a quiet man with hidden intentions. He can not be taken at face
value.
Lest ye see his true nature, one would think he was death incarnate.
<chuckles>
To make a long story short, Gendou has his limitations on sanity (for said
situation)
I'm sure, but both Geoff and I have come to the conclusion that he's not a
total sadistic bastard as many are lead to believe. He starts getting more
'screen time'
once Volume 5 strikes, allowing us to develop him some more.
You also use my all time FAVORITE pair-up of all: Asuka and Hikari. I've been
a silent proponent of this particular match-up for a long time, and while
i've
long intended to write my own, it would probaly pale in comparison to yours,
even if nothing more ever happens between those two for the rest of your
series. My only complaint is about that stupid phone ringing. ^_-
You're the second person to mention that. I have an email address for you,
maybe you'd like to start up a society against interruptions during said
scenes.
Although... <sweatdrops> You're not nearly as fanatical... <slinks into chair
in rememberance>
Asuka... has a varied role in this, I'll say that much. <chuckles> Nothing
seems
to be simple for her right now, and as the story progresses, that'll become
truth
for the others as well. As for Hikari... she's not a 2-dimensional character
(so to speak) in this fanfiction. She's getting quite the boost in
participation
in this world. A contract extension? <laughs>
Anyway, enough of my ravings. I need to ask you something of consequence;
could you send me volume one of this story? While Volume Two stands fairly
well on it's own, I'd like to have a better understanding of the backstory
involved. Plus I get the impression that I've missed out on more than a few
running gags. (Smitty?)
Hmmm... concerning Volume 1, you're the second person to mention that. It _is
available at the two major fanfic archives (SDAT and Ummagurau/Evafic). Did I
post this to the FFML? Back in October, I think... <shakes head> I think
I might
repost it for the sake of having a summary available, and for the
convenience of
anyone who hasn't read it yet.
As for Smitty, nope, first appearance is in Volume 2. ^_^ A creation of
one of
Geoff's co-author's for Argon.
Take care!
