<Big coincidence that the touch pad he chose displayed Touji's info.>
Actually, the touch pad was displaying the patient's charts, which, I
assume, would be completely digital in an organization like NERV
(coincidence resolved) I also used dramatic liscence to change the kana
that should be on the screen to Kanji, just to maximize the effect of
the alienation.
<I've noticed that a lot of "coincidence" happening. That's not good.
You can't keep using "coincidence" to make the plot go.>
Actually the coincidence will be explained as the history of project Y
is unveiled. It has to do with the chief scientist behind Project Y and
why Gendou wanted the project to be kept buried.
<Jerico may be taking thigs too well. He's suddenly in a fourteen year
old body and in Japan, and he's not even nervous.>
Indeed, once Jerico realizes he's not dreaming he'll have some issues to
resolve, none of which will be benificial to his mental health. There is
also an issue of guilt that will be resolved. Jerico should wake up and
smell the coffee so to speak in a couple more installments.
<>From what I can understand, the Eva randomly generated a pattern
during
a synch test. That pattern, by a big coincidence (again!) was a
perfect match of the brain pattern of Jerico. This pattern is now
inside Touji's brain. So that means that Touji only _thinks_ he's
Jerico. Remember, the Eva _generated_ the pattern. It did not take or
copy it from the past from Jerico before he died. So what we have here
is a delusional Touji.>
Indeed, this is the one coincidence that shall remain so. Jerico and
Unit Y are completely separate from the plans for completion and Third
Impact. The pattern, being identical to that generated by Jerico's brain
when he was alive, is for all intents and purposes, identical to Jerico
himself, atleast until the pattern starts to combine with input
accumulating from Touji's body. Its a delusional Touji, yes, but a
completely accurate delusion.
<What was supposed to normally happen during a synch test?>
That's something that not even Ritsuko knows completely. That's why
she's so interested in the backlash effect, it could explain the nature
of syncronization. (An oversight of mine was not telling that Touji was
being synched to Unit 01 as a test of his piloting ability. He would
have rotated into the piloting schedule, giving the other pilots
valuable time off)
<How old is Misato and Ritsuko?>
>From EVA ML FAQ: Ritsuko-30 yrs. old Misato 29
<Since Misato explained to Shinji what happened to Touji in the elevator
(I think), how come Asuka was acting like she still doesn't know later?
She even ignored the announcement in the auditorium. Big coincidence
(again!). Is there some purpose for her to remain ignorant? She was
in the elevator with them. Or did she go to a separate elevator? I
can't understand the "She was sliding to the other door." part.>
Asuka simply doesn't care about Touji or whatever condition he has. And
Jerico didn't get off on a very good foot with her the first time they
met. The 'sliding towards the other door' bit was my mistake. It should
read: 'sliding towards the far wall of the elevator'
<3. Rei and Shinji's attitude. They're blaming the victim. I think
that's stupid. They're fourteen year olds, that may explain it more or
less. But I've always seen Rei as rational. I don't think she would
blame Jerico for what happened to Touji, knowing all the facts.>
My reasoning behind the two of them's attitude is this: Jerico stole a
friend of their's body (or in Rei's case, the body of someone that she
has seen helping her friend). It's not a rational decision, because I
hold to the minority group that believes Rei has close to normal
emotions, but limited ability to express them. Shinji feels (naturally)
betrayed.
I realize that having to explain so many things means I haven't done a
great job of explaining the plot line, so I'll either alter the first
two parts or alter the plot of further parts to compensate.
Thanks for the _very_ helpful C&C. (See, I told you the story was
wanting)
Jerico
"When does the hurting stop?" Unit 03, very quietly.
