Megatokyo Judgement- Part 4

Note: [] denotes a foreign language to that of the place- I.E. English
in Megatokyo, Japanese in MC1.

A tearful Nene watched as Sylia did what she could.

It was a week since they had fled the Ladys 633 building, unable to save
the people in the nearby buildings. The extermination of Megatokyo was
nearly complete, and this was the first loss that the Knight Sabers had
suffered- but Sylia was trying to minimise that loss.

*That should do it,* Sylia thought, as she atattched the last cable to
the monitor. Then she threw a switch.

It hadn't been easy. She'd had to salvage a boomer brain for this, and
then there had been the complex business of downloading the data she'd
saved into the brain. And now she was going to see the fruits of that
work.

As the monitor warmed up, an image started to take shape. Mackie's face.

"Where the hell am I?"

"Mackie... you're dead." Sylia couldn't do anything other than be blunt.
The sooner he accepted the fact, the better.

"Dead? I can't be! What the fuck do you think you're doing, trying to
tell me that I'm dead..." Mackie trailed off, as his last memories
kicked in. Tearing apart K-12's like paper. Ripping ADP apart. And
destroying that battlemover.

"I see." He was silent for a moment. "What now? Am I going to be stuck
like this forever?"

Sylia shook her head. "No. We have... acquired... some hardware- mainly
boomer spare parts- and we're going to piece together something for you
to live in. If you want. If you insist, we could... pull the plug."

Nene choked a sob, and ran out of the room.

"Is that all?"

"Mackie, it's your decision. You may not want to live like this. But we
would rather that you stayed for the duration. We need all the help we
can get."

Mackie thought for a while. The head on the screen looked down, eyes
closed. then he looked up.

"Right. Put me in a boomer body. As powerful as possible. And then we'll
see."

Another reality away, across a vast gulf no thicker than a shadow... you
just have to walk in the right direction.

Two figures materialised at Tek 21. Both wore uniforms with helmets, but
only one ripped her helmet off and vomited like a waterfall.

Dredd looked at Priss, a touch of sympathy in his expression.

[It can be like that. You get used to it.]

[Not... fucking... likely... HEEYUUUCH!] Priss heaved again, as her
stomach surrendered again to reality-lag.

"Dredd! Report!" Deputy Chief Judge Herriman stormed into the room,
desperate to find out the situation. If the Dark Judges were loose
again, then there was no telling what could happen to the city. As
deputy, he had to be interested.

"It's bad, Herriman. We have to send a large presence into that reality
to reincarcerate them. They are reattempting Necropolis. The police
force there are under their sway... we've had to team up with
Vigilantes."

"Your friend, I assume?"

"Yes, Herriman. This is-" He was broken off by a scuffle.

[What do you mean? I'll smoke where I like, you bastard!]

Dredd sighed. This was something he should have foreseen.

[Priss-san, smoking is not permitted in Mega-city one except in one
place. Please refrain from smoking in here.]

[WHAT?]

Herriman rolled his eyes as Dredd and Priss argued for a couple of
minutes. Finally Priss gave in.

"Dredd?"

"Yes, Herriman. I require Mantas, gunbirds, and a small task force.
Preferably with the K-2000 armour. About two hundred judjes, excluding
crews."

Herriman nodded. "You'll get it. And have two days R&R. You need it, I
think."

"Great. Find Priss some quarters, as well. And ger her a Widowmaker-
that ought to impress her. And allow her a smoking room- she'll go
berserk if she can't smoke."

Back across the void...

Anderson was familiarising herself with the new battlesuit. It wasn't a
hardsuit; there wasn't the time to build a new one. But they did have a
K-12, which they built up into a highly efficient combat suit. It was
closer to the K-11 Jaeger, but heavier armed.

Mackie was getting the hang of his new body. Basically, he was a
hyperboomer, now, a bit like Largo- but without the megalomania. The
only problem he had was controlling his strength. Anderson had taken a
tissue sample, so he could be cloned in MC1. He hadn't been told about
this; they decided that it wasn't right to get his hopes up.

Sylia was looking over the Motolauncher. Mackie had built it on the sly,
but had done a pretty good job of it.

All they could do now was wait.

A shimmering, a whine... Dredd and Priss reformed in a corner of the
room.

"SYLIA!" Dredd yelled, looking round. Hearing the yell, Sylia rushed to
the room.

"Dredd? Priss? You're back! What backup have you brought?"

"Plenty." Dredd almost grinned. "In five minutes, Judges will be
materialising all over this city. The ADP won't know what hit them. Nor
will the dark judges."

At the pinnacle of the Genom tower, another spanner was about to be
thrown into the works of the world. In a metal sarcophagus, a body was
stewing in various toxic fluids.

The four dark judges clustered around the sarcophagus, as the shadowy
forms of the Sisters of Death flitted around.

"Noww, fffill thisss ssoullesss carcasssee!"

A wispy form, barely visible, sped into the corpse.

The eyes reopened.

"Arisssse, annd take thhhyy robesss offf offfficccee."

"Arissssse, Dark Judggggee Quinccccy!"

End Part 4

"Arissse, Judge Largo..."
