I thought about it long and hard, and hoped that a clarification
would
be forthcoming. Gary's response in quitting was correct, and I
hoped
that a clarification would have been issued by now. But with the
exception of Ryoucilio (an irony, considering that most people
never
take him seriously), no one has commented. Neither the person
that
issued it has commented or apologized, nor has anyone else
said much.

Having seen the email in question, at first, I didn't see anything
wrong with it. Then I reread it. Hm. I caught the racist tones in it.
Then I reread it a third time. And realized that this was actually a
commentary on how Japan views foreigners. Even Chinese.

Jeez. There IS such a thing about being TOO politically correct.

I'm hoping that the words were typoed, that something was left
out of
it. I'm hoping that the reason nothing's been said is because
everyone's so surprised by it, that no one really knows what to
say
that would start a massive verbal war. But that's not the point. I
am guilty, as are we all, for not saying a thing.

Gary and Ryocilio are correct. Such comments cannot be
ignored, nor
can one blindly hope that things merely work out, for the silence
on
all sides is proving that it isn't.

I didn't see anything majorly inflammatory about it. It's just a
comment on Japanese culture... albeit, without the Post-it notes
explaining Japanese xenophobia.
